If you didn't know already and live in this area an offical GW store opened in Altamonte Springs. It is currently the only GW store in Florida. It's got a buzzing community after only about 6 weeks of business, and the single operator, Clay, is a great guy.

This threads real purpose to make people living in West Volusia, DeLand specifically, but really the surrounding area aware of a gaming group in DeLand. We play usually a weeknight and most weekends. Usually at my house where I have two full size tables and a 4'4', and enough terrain to fill 'em. At the moment it's maybe 8-9 people, and we've all gotten into the hobby in the last 18 months. We're planning small tournaments, apoc games, and there is a campaign in the works as well.

I'm always looking for more people to game with, and there have to be orphans in our area that don't even know people play. That was the case when I started the hobby so long ago. Our local meta in DeLand, if you can call it that, is rather limited and we're all looking for new challenges and perspectives on the game.

If you're looking for a large community of gaming and the occassional tournament, come by the amorous armadillo. The store owner there (John) will help you find anything gaming related and has a large stock of GW and non-GW products.

I've been to the Armadillo. Bought some things there, too (first codex, first tact squad, WM book). The guys I met were all super helpful when I was starting out. Haven't been in a while. The drive is pretty unencouraging. Now that I've got some experience with the game/hobby I've been wanting to hit a tournament or just game night there.
