So once again, I stopped at my FLGS to pick up the latest WD and give them support and guess what....sold out again.

So I also emailed GW (not that I thought they were going to do anything, but I was curious for their response) about the WD situation in general since every store within 3 hours of me is out and said they can't get anymore. In sum, GW said that they are surprised it sold out so quickly and that there is nothing that they can do and no further prints are coming from the printer. The final suggestion: subscribe to WD to ensure that I don't miss an issue in the future.

While I have no objections to subscribing to something that continuously has value, WD has not proven to me that it is worth a full year subscription just yet.

Crazy thought - GW does not want my money that bad, or they are surprised that putting something of value in WD makes it sell out back-to-back months?

Does anyone else think that GW is missing an opportunity to make more money by doing another print run of what has been 2 of their more successful WD releases to fill the obvious demand?

I'm fairly certain that print runs are limited for this kind of thing. They can guess how many they will sell, but without subscriber or retail orders have no real way to know.

If sales like this continue, I imagine they would increase the print runs.

Very true, but I wanted to give my game store a little support since they let me play there for free.

Another good point. According to my FLGS, they got 8 copies from their rep and were not allowed to order more. The 8 they did receive sold out the same day they arrived. The last issue (379), they got 6 and sold out in 2 days. My hope is that GW did increase the volume this time around and still underestimated the sales. It would make me more forgiving of them in that instance versus them just printing the same # as 379 and acting surprised that it sold out quickly.

I doubt they'd increase the print run based upon 2 months of sell outs. You have to consider that it is fairly likely that sell outs are rare for them. We all know that the only reason for the sell out is the SOB lists (actual rules).

Of course, this will probably escape GW, and they'll either do nothing, or increase next months sub-par issue and wonder why it didnt sell out.

This kind of thing is a really fine line. A huge print run is pretty dangerous financially if you overestimate.

I knew that this would be an issue and had my FLGS reserve me a copy of each about a month before they were due to come out. Take no chances.
