ok, so i have currently-

3x 5 man deathwing terminator squads with PF and SB, the SGT has SB and sword (all are black reach termies)
1x 5 man Deathwing Terminator squad ALL with LC (AoBR bodies and LC arm bits)
Belial


what i have on the way---

2x terminator CC squad boxes
1x Land Raider Crusader/Redeemer
1x Command Squad box.

i plan on making a Terminator Apothecary using some bits from the command box, and the left over AoBR arms i have from the first CC squad. (show piece, lol)

Any suggestions?

ok, update,

I had the Landraider Crusader/Redeemer swapped out for the normal landraider, and i will buy the crusader/redeemer sprue from GW, along with the Terminus ultra sprues... gonna magnetize it for all the weapons. maybe get some other sponson weapon kits... Baal Predator, maybe the Achilles, the Promethius, and possible the helios

ALRIGHTY!!! now that i have time to post this.....


everything came these past few weeks... now i have the Landraider, customizable to have the standard TWLC, the Hurricane bolters, the flamestorms, along with the smaller Predator stuff... the LC, the HB, and can also mount the TW HB, TW LC, or the TLAC.... the top hatch gunners are also changeable, and the assault launchers from the Crusader/redeemer sprue are magnetized---- although i must say i like the FW version of the launchers...

ALL of my termy squads are magnetized for weapons... can use PF, CF, PW, LC, TH SS, and SB.... thinkin bout getting some special termy weapons, too... some Rocket Launchers, Flamers, Meltas, autocannons, etc....

One of the major strengths of Deathwing is the ability to take Cyclone Missile Launchers on their assault-loaded Termies, doubly so because the CML is cheaper than usual for Deathwing.

If you have lightning claw arms or TH/SS arms, give that a shot. You won't regret it.

How many points are you looking at building to? You have a pretty good start to your army.

As said above CML are really good for deathwing. Also LC's and TH/SS are good too. Dreads are a possibility for a deathwing army.

If you want to go the Doublewing rout (Ravenwing and Deathwing) you could buy some bikes or speeders as well. Speeders with the Typhoon Missile Launchers can be a nice boost to some much needed range support. As well as some preds or vindies. I myself run 2 vindies in my 2k list and I like it. Helps alot. Bikes are realy nice if you plan on DS'ing your terms with the tport homers.

Well I hope this gives you some ideas of what to build towards.

as it stands now, i have 6 squads of DW termies... 30 models. a land raider that can mount the Terminus, the Crusader, the redeemer, or any other combo of the weapons from the three kits( i like the idea of the Hurricanes, HB, and TW HB/TW AC make dem orks jealous of the big shooty thing!) 15 standard marines, and Tyberos (counts as Belial)---- OH and an Apothecary in Termy armour AND a Techmarine Mechanic


for the termies- the arms i have are----

15 sets of Claws, 10 TH/SS, 15 PF, 4 Swords, 15 Stormbolters. thats not counting the Scibor mini... he came with a shield and sword, i magnetized both, and also a TH for him.

Ok Well thats good that you have options. Options are a good thing to have. What do you want out of your list? Do you want to get into CC as fast as possible and be able to handle yourself. Or do you want to have a fire fight and try to out shoot the enemy. Or do you want a well rounded list that can do both? As i allready said what kinda points are you looking at playing with? 2K, 1.5K, or even 2.5K?

These are the first questions you really need to ask to get some feedback on building a Deathwing army.

We really can't help you until we get some more info on what you want out of your army.

well, i did some number crunching, and i did have a 1700 pt layout, but its not often that i find someone who plays odd points like that... not since the shop in my hometown closed, anyways
. i am looking to build a well rounded army of termies, that can take heavy fire and give it back. and will excel in CC if i take it there.




i am hoping to eventually get a Venerable Dred, and a normal dred (both magnetized, and the normal ready for mortis gear.) maybe get a contemptor pattern with the arms... i can make a mortis out of it

well, thinking about it, for ranged support, i might try my hand at converting a LR into an Ares.

Why?

Honestly you will want to look into Speeders with the typhoon launcher and either some preds or some vindies in my opinion. Dreads can be usefull too.

i do plan on trying to keep it straight deathwing, only using the others if i need the points. thats why i havent invested in rhinos or their variants.... i might buy the Baal predator just for the weapons but to keep it straight deathwing, i could only use land raider based tanks.

Um no..The deathwing has access to the armory which has all the tanks available. Its just there are Land Raiders in the 1st company too.
