Played this game last week, it was a fun game that swung back and forth a couple times which made it pretty exciting, we played via google drawing because my opponent (NakedBatBoy) recently moved far far away.

The game mode was capture and control with a spearhead deployment.

My army:

HQ
Epidemius 110
great unclean one w/ cloud of flies, aura of decay, unholy might, insturment 205
Troops
plaguebears w/ instrument 155
plaguebears w/ instrument 155

Heavy Support
daemon prince w/ cloud of flies, unholy might, mark of nurgle, flight, daemonic gaze 215
Soul Grinder w/ Phlegm 160

Total: 1000

My opponents army:
Comments from NakedBatBoy:
I had never used a mek army before, so the Kans and Dreds were a new strategy for me. I liked them a lot, but certainly could be better than I am...
- (HQ) Big Mek w/ KFF, 2 Grot Oiler - 95pts (This ended up being too many points pumped into grot oilers... I feel like I should have either put them directly on the dreads, or just not had as many at all)
- (HQ) Big Mek w/ KFF 2 Grot Oiler - 95pts
- (Troop) Deff Dread w/ 2 more Dread CC Weapons - 105pts

Orks turn 1: The orks went first and picked the top right immediately moving out towards the two objectives he planned to hold for the rest of the game. The objectives are the black and green alter of nurgle and the two red daemonic faces; daemonic squigs fresh from the warp that the orks hope to use to bread stronger and more vicious (and probably brown) squigs!

Daemons turn 1: I got my chosen force half and dropped in fairly aggressively, the GUO scattered down towards the mechs unfortunately, and my shooting phase was less than inspired (1 dead grot!)

Orks turn 2:
The orks layed into my monstrous creatures hard and managed two wounds on my prince

The assult phase went to me though, with only one wound on my GUO and good hits against both of his Dreads!

Daemons turn 2:
My Soul grinder came in this turn, i placed him a little conservatively, but then he scattered very for directly to the left taking him out of the fight for quite some time, his phlegm shout was wildly off target (it was the theme for the day)

Assult phase went great for me, i managed to wreck the mech facing my Prince and explode the one against the GUO unfortunately the GUO also took 2 more wounds.

Orks turn 3:
With the GUO free to go attack the grots the orks turned the bulk of their shots against him, with some lucky rolls to hit and wound and some unlucky rolls to save the GUO went down hard, the prince came through unscathed with the cover from the wreck really helping out with defense.

Daemons turn 3:
the plaguebearers came in this turn and scattered 11 inches off target! The soulgrinder shot and failed to do anything (again) and i charged his Kans inflicting heavy damage and taking a wound.

Ork turn 4:
the plagubearers took a lot of shots this tun but only suffered 3 wounds, their legendary durability is more than a match for the grots' peashooters! in assult the prince took out the remaining two kans, wrecking one and exploding the other taking a couple of grots with it!

Daemons turn 4:
Another turn of failed shooting for the grinder, the prince assaulted the grots and inflicted two whole wounds! the plaguebearers also won combat dishing out 4 wounds and taking none themselves, the grotz all held their ground though, ready for the final turn.

Orks turn 5:
This was the pivotal turn this battle, the orks assulted with his kans and after some amazing rolling and not a single wound saved the plaguebearers were jettisoned back to the warp! so much for that legendary toughness... the prince also went down after a lucky swing by the big mech! a painful turn to say the least!

Daemons turn 5:
With my entire force nearly dead i could only hope for some good shooting from my soul grinder to drive off the grots and get a tie, but that was far too much to expect! With only two kills, a wildly off target phlegm shot and a successful leadership test and a 2 on the roll to continue the game my hopes were dashed! and the Orks took home the 2-1 win!

Over all it was a good fun game, i was feeling pretty good at the end of turn 4, but that evaporated very quickly come turn 5! In the future i would probably have deployed the plaguebearer/Epidemius squad more aggressively and taken the fight to that other group of grots right away rather than claiming the objective. I also probably would have deployed the soul grinder closer to the action, but with the way he scattered it wouldn't have changed that much.

My opponent fought well and had some good luck at the end that snatched victory from my fingers!

Yep. That's about the gist of it. I had a lot of fun too... Disapointed with my Dreads though. They aren't nearly as tough as I was imagining. They definitely need some support from a Boy squad or grots to help distribute the hit away from them... They are good hitter, but vulnerable. The Kans were a lot of fun, and the AP 2 of their guns was really nice. I think I would have preferred to have 2 squads of boys instead of the dreads. Thanks for the game!

Check out my Project (B)log! I would love any suggestion or comments you may have.
