Having played the game on and off since 2nd edition, but less in later years. I am fairly aquinted with 5th edition. After playing lots of WM/malifaux/infinity, I decided to try out the SW army that I traded for, that has been sitting in my closet for almost a year..
Having read the current codex and browsed some forums, im pretty exited.

The army I traded for is farily nice, but consist mostly of the units and transport, and I have my mind on a few things that I'd like to add. My first question would be at what order to I priorotise these, and are they decent choises. My second question would be if I could pls get some critisism on my current 1500pts build. Pls keep in mind that although id like to build a competetiv army, my build is made of what i got at the time.

Roghly what I got:

30GH
10Scouts
10BC
11 Terminators (mixed build, 2xAC, 1xCML, 1xH-flam)
1 Dredad 2xLC/ML
1Predator LC/HVB)
3xrhino
1x Razback

Things I consider buying:

- Land Raider (only one at the monet, but which model do I start with? this would be for terminators)

- 2/4x Land speeders, not sure if i would go MM/HFL or cyclone maybe 2 of each

- 1/2xLF squads (5ML, 3ML/PC, 3ML/2hvb??) I guess I would think these would be the first squad I need..

- TWC (If I get these I think I will order 5 or 6 right away, this would give me the options of running 2x 2/3 or a max unit maybe one as a HQ) Expensive and fragile. Something tells me that this should be a later upgrade, in particular as I hear GW is releasign the modells in September.

Current list:

- 2x Scouts(5) mark,MG + WG with CM/PF
- 2x GH(7) mark, MG,standard, MG + WG with CM/PF + Rhino
- 1xGH(10) 2xflamer,2xPW,mark, standard +rhino

- 2x Runge Priest (goes with GH)

- 1x Predator Las/HVB)
- 1x Whirlwind, extra armor

- 6x WG, terminators (3xPW/SB, 2xAC/CML, Arjac)

Also, what is the best sprue or way to make Combie weapons?

Sorry for the wall of text, but I would really apriciate any comments.

This is the list I'm going to taking to a local tournament, I've had a few games before hand testing the models and the TWC can be fragile but in close combat can reek havoc in all with the Wolf Lord, who is Eternal warrior ( Saga of the Bear) they have 11 Strength 10 attacks 6 hitting on 3' always because of Wolf Tooth necklace and the other is mostly on fours and then 10 Normal attacks hitting on 4's most of the time and wounding on 4's and any 6's are rending also all with 3++ save because of there storm shields. At first I only took Terminators but with the way I wanted to build them with Thunderhammer + storm shield they were costing too much so I was wasting points on them. You need the Long Fangs as they are good at what they can do as long as the Squad leader is there split their fire most of the time and fire and 2 different targets with each pack. Always use full ML and don't mix it up unless its a bigger point game and you want a PC in each for some hard hitting. I cant really tell you about scouts as I have never got them in any of my lists but after this tournament I will play them just to see if they fit my play style.

All in all you need the Long Fangs, Need a lot of Razorbacks and Rhinos to carry your men, always buy the Razorback hit as its the same price as the rhino kit but you get a rhino and the turrets for the Razorback! , never have the Long Fangs in as they cant shoot out their Razorback but because of the Las/Plas, in my list I have 4 LC to hopefully pop the other players bigger tanks at range and if I'm playing GK etc. the Twin linked Plasma Rifles do go 2 shots with in twelve strength 7 AP 2 so only invulnerables! Melta in each squad.

This is just the way I play but hopefully this has helped!

Combi weapons for terminators? I would say the Chaos Terminator kit it has a lot of Combi weapons just cut the spikes and crap off!

Also after re-reading your post I seem to of missed it the first time that you want a list with what you got :/ idiot me but the list below could be a guide in a buying list also with taking out of the TWC and Wolf Lord you would have 1234 which gives you 266 points to put in a small scout squad or a Predator or a Rune Priest for 100pts that leaves you with two Psykers and also gives you a 4+ cover against psykers within 24 inch. and then a Predator if you so which and an extra Wolg Guard for the scouts not sure if it would fit but going from points of that can see I think it should and that seems good list so with that in mind here is a draft list with your units and some ones you don't have but... foot slogging SW don't go well in my eye! Also you could drop one the 5 man Grey hunters and free up 155 pts as well so you could have 421pts which would cover the points for the scouts, Rune Priest, extra Wolf Guard and maybe the Predator!

Hi Zasmel, thanks alot for your indepth answer, and also thanks for sending me your list. It looks pretty potent, best of luck using it at the tournament.

I had my first game today, was against a CSM (nurgle) army, and i got fairly stomped.. This was probably partially to some mistakes on my part in terms of abilities as well as list build.
I ended up switching the 2xfamer GH for a smaller sky claws with one of the RP in it.
I usally do not say this but my dice rolling was incredibly bad tonight. for the last half of the game i had people Lol'n hard at the amounts of 1 i got.

Had a great time though and Arjac took down a demon prince on his own.
Decided to first get the ML fangs, prolly 2 units, and maybe some speeders. But Im very tempted to try outTWM's asap. Might proxy to see what size i like.

Get those 2 long fang packs and you've got a decent core to work with, get 3x long fang if you can afford it, but for now at least get 2x and use that predator.

As far as it goes, experience goes a long way in 40k, if you're just coming back it's going to take a lot of losses, and seeing why you lost, to really net you the wins later on =).

Dude i did well tonight in my first game should of won! But then my second game i got curb stomped it has horrible seriously i have never seen so many ones and the other guy didn't even have a tournament list it was ridiculous

Nice to hear that you did well at first. Somewhat funny that we both was going bunkers at the same time over the drowes off 1s beeing rolled.
