Well, to be simple, who do you think should ally and why? The main thing the chart got wrong in my opinion is that every army should be able to ally with Necrons, by reprogramming them to do their bidding. This would really be useful, as the Necrons are fairly hard to use on their own. I know they're not actually robots, but they could still be implanted with artificial intelligence.

Necrons aren't actually robots... They're living entities in a robotic shell.
But even assuming that 'reprogramming' them was possible, you have to capture them first. Automatically Appended Next Post: Besdies which, it's possibly worth pointing out that the Apoc allies chart is only a set of guidelines on who would be most likely to ally, rather than hard and fast rules on who can and can't...

The chart is fine like it is, actually. As for why, I think the choices on the list are already obvious.
Agreed with Insaniak's thoughts on Necrons as allies.

Apocalypse is something that's meant to be taken slightly less seriously than the main game. If you want to ally with some Necrons, just do it. Since Apocalypse is generally played as a team game, seeing mixed forces on either side - even to the extent of Chaos Marines fighting alongside Loyalist Marines - is completely normal.

I don't think the Orks would have a problem allying with anyone if it meant having a fight. I guess it's the other side that would have the problem allying with Orks

DE, Tyranids and Orks wouldn't really ally that well with anyone, though. It would pretty much be 'nhurp durp Imperium + Eldar...maybe'

The Chaos/Ork alliance from the first DOW was realistic/reasonable enough.
Chaos/IG alliance reminds me of the Seige of Vraks, and could be epic in scale and shear destruction.

Dark Eldar occasionally help someone else. Usually it's for the Dark Eldar's benefit, but it still happens.
They've "helped" Tau and CWE in the past.
