I know that medieval/dark age rules are already a plenty but I was just wondering if anyone around here is getting Gripping Beast's ruleset on the age of vikings. From what I hear its a fun skirmish game with 20 or so models on each side with 4 factions: Anglo-Danish, Vikings, Welsh and Normans although more are to come. Each faction has their benefits although they all draw from the same unit pool I think, vikings has access to berserker though.

Ive not looked into it yet, but with some nice plastic sets for the period from warlord out, it could make a good fun and most important cheap game.

The Lieutenant is a Punk! And a pretty 2nd rate Punk at that.......

Sorry I meant the ones you mentioned lol. Warlord of course do the Roman/Celts.

Having said that I'm sure they would be good for games against rival warbands.

Just had a good look and wow thats expensive!

I like the idea of the dice but £12.00 for eight dice? And thats just for one faction!

Well I believe the dice are just 6 sided dice, someone mentioned you could just make some stickers or a chart with some normal ones

Lets hope so

The rules themselves are not cheap either, I think I'll wait a bit and see what reactions are like.

Well its shipping now

Huh, apparently people really like those dice

FIRST THE GOOD NEWS! 14.09.11
We are in a packing frenzy and will be starting to ship the SAGA pre-orders today! All the pre-orders will be shipped by the release date of Monday next week and will include your FREE Sven Forkbeard figure, unavailable anywhere else!!

NOW THE BAD NEWS.... 14.09.11
Due to a manufacturing factory error and a much higher than expected demand, we have already run out of Norman and Anglo-Danish SAGA dice!
We are very sorry for any inconvenience this may cause but we have taken the Norman and Anglo-Danish dice out of stock. The dice factory are working to send us the balance of our order but unfortunately this will take 3-4 weeks. We will make the dice available again as soon as they arrive.
PLEASE NOTE, THIS WILL EFFECT SAGA DEALS THAT INCLUDE DICE AS FOLLOWS: All deals will remain available on the web-site and if you want to order any and include the Norman or Anglo-Danish dice, then we will send everything else in the deal bar the dice and then send the dice on as soon as they arrive (currently mid October.)
Please also note, anybody that has pre-ordered Norman and Anglo-Danish dice so far will receive their sets as ordered.
