Me and a friend we're having a discussion about black templar sword brethren. I originally thought all sword brethren used power weapons, which wasn't the case as my friend explains. I looked them up, and a power weapon costs 5 more points than terminator armor. Now this confuses me, I thought terminator armor is something that cannot be made anymore and is extremely valuable, while power weapons can still be made but are still valuable. Considering rich families and high ranking officers of the imperium have power weapons, I find it strange that terminator armor would cost less than a power sword.

So which is more harder to come by, power weapon or termy armor?

Terminator armour is much harder to come by than power weapons.
Though the Black Templars may have Terminator armour coming out of their ears considering the circumstances of their founding, how old they are and the likelihood of them helping the Mechanicus in return for a few favours.

Where in the Codex do power weapons cost more than Terminator Armour? The only things that cost more points than Terminator Armour are Chainfists, Thunder Hammers, Lightning Claws, Bikes, Holy Relics and Adamantine Mantles.

I'm more than likely looking at an old codex then. It's on page 35 for me.

Point cost usually has nothing to do with item rarity within fluff.
Power Weapons usually comes free with Terminator armor these days.

Oh, now I see what it's about. What you are refering to is Terminator Honours, or the right to wear Terminator Armour. All it does in-game is grant the wearer an extra attack. You're not actually getting Terminator Armour for the guy who buys it.
