Just started to play warhammer with brets and still understanding everything so sorry if this is a stupid question. But the the book says that the Fay can use any of the 8 lords of magic so does this mean that she knows all the spells and you can choose from all of them during the game, or do you have to choose a specific lore?

And can you mix her 4 spells up from different lords or do they all need to be the same?

You would still have to choose a lore.

I.E. she can use any lore, but you must choose all of your spells from that lore, and she'll only know 4 spells, since she's a level 4 wizards.

Some people play to win, some people play for fun. Me? I play to kill toy soldiers.

That's what I thought. But can I change her lore from game to game? Like in a 3 round tournament can I changer magic lore and spells each round

Unfortunately, no.

Back in 7th edition you could, but now you must list the lore in the army list.

Use life, you get an extra +2 to cast, and the chalice of potions means you can use a spell from the lore of heavens. plus the life attribute is helpful in keeping the enchantress alive

Another question, this one about wizards in general. If they wizard is in the second rank of a unit of Knight's, can she still cast spells if the knights are in combat? Can she only target the unit that is fighting the knights or can she target any unit?

Like if the knights were in combat but I wanted to cast dwellers below on another enemy unit would I be able to?

Dwellers below is a Direct Damage spell. It must follow all restrictions for DD spells laid out on page 31.

Short answer to your question is yes, provided all other rules for casting are followed.

2,500 - Discipline. Duty. Unyielding Will.
2,000 - He alone has the Emperor's soul in his blood.
2,500 - Order. Unity. Obedience.

Being in combat does not, in general, restrict you from casting spells. However you need to follow the spell casting restrictions to see if you can cast the spell you want to.

Hexs and augments can be cast anytime, on any unit in range, but you may use a direct damage on another unit that is not in combat or magic missile if the caster and target is not in combat,

EDIT: changed 'cause I was wrong

Actually if the Fey Enchantress is in close combat herself (or any caster for that matter), she isn't allowed to cast a Magic Missile at the unit she is in combat with or another unit. Magic missiles function like shooting attacks in that regard.

Direct Damage you can cast on a unit that is not in close combat, even if you are in close combat yourself.
