This is an army list that I have been looking to build. I have my competitive army list, which consists of the standard mech'dar template. This is a list to play with the newer 40k players who are not bringing killer lists. The theme of this list is to go with exarchs. I wanted to see if anyone has any suggestions to the list. The odd model counts are due to the models that I own.

HQ
Avatar
Eldrad
7 warlocks, embolden, enhance, 4 destructors

Elites
10 Fire dragons w/exarch with dragonsbreath flamer
9 Fire dragons w/exarch with dragonsbreath flamer
10 Banshees w/exarch with executioner and acrobatic

Troops
9 Avengers w/exarch with shimmershield and defend
9 Avengers w/exarch with shimmershield and defend

Fast Attack
9 Warp Spiders w/exarch with powerblades and dual spinners

Heavy Support
5 Reapers

I have a warlock squad on bikes (8) I can swap out the avatar and eldrad for. I also have a autoarch I can bring to help fit the theme. I have some rangers I can add (though it takes from the theme), and a wrathlord I can add. I'm willing to buy a few models to make the list work, but don't want to spend more than $200.

Anyone have some suggestions or thoughts?

So as per our PM you are looking to do a Biel-Tan Craftworld theme list that won't discourage people during friendly games. To fit this theme you will need to lose Eldrad and lose the lock squad, Biel-Tan isn't known for their psy-prowess. However to keep from getting face stomped you could toss in a farseer, but to really fluff it out you would want a Farseer.

The #1 issue you will have is eldar out of their vehicles = DEAD Eldar. With guardian footdar with isn't such an issue due to their cheap price, however aspect warriors are anything but cheap. This is the best I could come up with to make the list decent...

--------------

Avatar
Farseer w/ RoWard, Stones, Doom, Fortune (goes with Banshees)

7 Fire Dragons + Exarch w/ Crackshot, DB Flamer
7 Fire Dragons + Exarch w/ Crackshot, DB Flamer
9 Howling Banshees + Exarch w/ Executioner, Acro

8 Dire Avengers + Exarch w/ Shimmer
8 Dire Avengers + Exarch w/ Shimmer

8 Warp Spiders + Exarch w/ PB, Dual Spinners

4 Dark Reapers + Exarch with Crack Shot, Tempest Launcher

2 Wave Serpents w/ Scatter Lasers

In all reality a Aspect warrior heavy list will not do well. They suffer too much for specializing in areas that other armies just do better or the Eldar can't do well enough anymore. Putting Aspects on foot just expedites their demise.

Craftworld Uaire-Nem pics "Like shimmering daggers of light our fury shall rain down and cleanse this battlefield." Autarch of Uaire-Nem

just my 2c concerning a fun casual Biel-Tan list.

"The Sword Wind strikes swiftly and surely, relying on a focused assault that uses surprise and the immense fighting skills of its numerous fighting skills of its numerous aspect warriors to annihilate the enemy in one clean blow."
-Eldar Codex pg 16.

So, how can we make a fun list, focusing primarily on aspect warriors, with tons of alpha strike and suprise potential.

We'll want an Autarch just to ensure that everything comes in as planned for a decisive strike at the enemy. Aside from that, striking scorpions, swooping hawks, and warp spiders would all be fun to take advantage of the Master Strategist rule, since they can all come in through deep strike / outflank.

So we'll basically be using a reserve style list built around having numerous and varied aspect warriors.

(125) Autarch- WJG, Mandiblasters, Power Weapon, Fusion Gun
(95) Farseer- Warding, Doom

(180) 5 Fire Dragons
Wave Serpent- tl shuri cannon
(212) 10 Scorpions- exarch, both powers, claw
(212) 10 Scorpions- exarch, both powers, claw

(287) 10 Dire Avengers- Exarch, 2 catapults, bladestorm
Wave Serpent- tl lance
(287) 10 Dire Avengers- exarch, 2 catapults, bladestorm
Wave Serpent- tl lance

(196) 7 Warp Spiders- Exarch, 2 spinners, blades, withdraw
(152) 5 Swooping Hawks- Exarch, both powers, Sunrifle

Total: 1746 points!

To get it up to 2000 just add War Walkers for more cheap s6 fire.

The problem essentially with the list is that it is painfully low on scoring units, and has limited anti tank capability. On the other hand you'll have units coming out of the woodwork, on a 3+. Just keep the hawks sky leaping and dropping pie plates on infantry- then use them to contest an objective at the end of the game.

It won't win any tournaments- but it could be fun

Personally i would take just a couple of autarchs or farseers other than that looks like a good army , maybe throw the dragons in wave serpents.

I like the idea of moving to an autarch. I think Ill keep the avatar for fluff sake, as its created from the death of an exarch warrior. Ill move away from warlocks in this army as Biel-Tan is not a psychic monster. As I mentioned, I'm not as worried about getting facestomped, as this is my list to use on newer players.

I like the idea of adding a few serpents for options. Ill play with some numbers and add the final list soon. Thanks again for the suggestions.
