What is this death star everyone talks about!? :(

It's more or less a unit that's hard as nails. Think TH/SS Terminators with a Chaplain in a LRC or Nob Bikerz.

It is basically the tactical equivalent of putting all your eggs in one basket. Something like Walrus said, a Nob Biker squad thats like 700 points, you count on it to go around and kill everything and base your strategy around it. Other good examples would be a big Paladin unit, Thunderwolf Cavalry with Wolf Lords on wolves, etc.

To clarify a Deathstar is a unit that is usually very very difficult to kill and is very good at killing other units. Not every army has one but a lot of them do I'll list a few to make it easier.

Space Marines, Blood Angels - TH/SS Terminators (With IC or without)
Space Wolves - Thunderwolf Cavalry
Demons - Bloodcrushers
Tyranids - Swarmlord with Guard (this ones debatable)
Orkz - Nob Bikers
Eldar - Seer Coucil on Bikes
Dark Eldar - Vect with Wyches and Haemonculi
*Note: I am not listing all of them, encase some of you are quick to point out others.*


Anyway you get the point, its a unit that is very very good (most of the time in close combat) and is incredibly difficult to kill.

The one downside to Death Stars is that they are usually a lot of points ranging anywhere from 250-750+ points and thus usually take up about a quarter or more of your army and therefore if you lose said Death Star it typically, though not all the time, means your going to lose.

Well, it's certainly no moon.

It's a fully armed and operational battle station.
