Warning up front to everyone who was hoping for a serious strategy thread: this is not one. Don't complain about it, thanks.
My brother picked up 40k a while after I did, and he dug my father's old metal Space Marines from the very earliest editions of the game out, dusted them off and started playing with them. I often go on down to my FLGS when I'm home from college and play 40k, usually on the same team as my brother so that he can play in larger games. I picked up a few space wolves to compliment his list, and it works pretty well. Our biggest problem is that we found discussing strategy with each other in front of our opponent made them more able to predict our moves, and counter them.
It was clearly time to invent a secret code. My brother and I have always found 40k fluff to be incredibly overdone and ridiculous, and we wouldn't have it any other way. So, in the pretense of being "in character" my brother and I can discuss tactics in a team game with the help of "battlebabble", or generic space marine buzzwords hidden in impassioned speeches to each other/our opponent/our tiny plastic men, and keep a special glossary of the hidden meanings in our codexes. it is our hope that this code will aid our fellow battle brothers to coordinate and use teamwork the likes of which would make the emperor proud, or to create their own code languages for other races. (Tyranid players communicating in shrieks and clicks? I don't know.) The key is to intersperse the code words into generic space-marine speech and let your partner pick them out, and respond accordingly.
OFFICIAL BATTLEBABBLE SPACE-GLOSSARY OF GLORY:
"Battle-brother!" = The following sentence contains battlebabble code, listen for it.
"I stand ready." = I understand, I'm listening.
"Glory" = Assault indicated unit
"Space!" = That unit needs to pull back or get to cover
"Righteous" = target indicated unit with heavy weaponry.
"Imperium of Man" = When the unit held in reserves comes in, it should be placed where my hand is resting on the table.
"Heresy" = move that unit to hold an objective
"Steel rain." = Where should I deep strike this unit?
"Space Marines!" = indicates unit/area of board/objective with a pointing hand.
"Battle" = Focus fire on indicated unit
"adamantium" = My units are in trouble, I need this unit of yours to move and support.
"Holy" = Yes/I agree
"Xenos" = No/I disagree
If you have suggestions for new terms to be added, or battlebabble glossaries of your own for races other than the imperium, feel free to add them!

I'm considering including "matt ward" in the code for everything, just to see if we can work it into the babble.
"By the holy emperor's second cousin, Matt Ward, this battle is going well!"

Your transport is but a pale imitation of the original CRASSUS!
He's on page 54 of the Black Templars Codex...

I just whisper things to my teammate instead of trying to remember a series of codewords. It's like when you're a little kid and you speak in code with your friends so THOSE GIRLS and YOUR TEACHERS won't catch on to your plans at recess.
However, I enjoy the image of two people pointing at random points on the table and shouting "SPACE MARINES!" for reasons unbeknownst to their opponent. That just sounds silly.

I feel like your opponent would catch on relatively quickly. While they wouldn't know exactly what you are implying, when you roll for reserve, point at a spot on the table, and scream "steel rain", I think they will get the hint. However, there is a good idea somewhere in here...
