I just added myself as a friend...
Not sure if this was known or not but clicking the Friend icon on one of your own posts adds you to your own friends list...
I don't want to find out if the ignore button works in the same way...
EDIT: Okay and now the friend button is gone on all of my posts... I might be going mad so feel free to ignore this.

There are purposes to all of them except know yourself in real life. Friend puts your threads in 'my friends threads' for easy viewing. Ignore obviously hides your stuff so you can concentrate on other posts. You can unfriend and unignore yourself from your profile page.

I occasionally receive random 'friendings' - one time, I had a friend request from Chibi, so I PM'd him (I was pretty surprised, as we had a couple rounds of snide-tennis in the past) and he had no knowledge of it! A similar thing has just happened with remillia_scarlet, and I KNOW that has to be a mistake!

It is pretty easy to accidentally hit the 'friend' button when casually browsing, especially on a touchscreen device.

I knew about friending and ignoring yourself, but I wasn't aware you could know yourself IRL.
It's tricky to do (there's no link to do it easily). But, I figured it out.
