Hey,

I was wondering if anyone recognizes this miniature?
I fished it out of the bitbox at my local store today.
It's made of resin and it doesn't have a stamp on the bottom.
And out of curiousity, is it worth anything?

I was thinking of using it for an ork or Chaos dreadnought.

Whoa. I confess myself entirely stumped, and that doesn't happen very often. It has a bit of a "Warzone" look to the sculpting, but that's pretty much all I can offer. I wonder if it was a short-run garage kit?

Likewise, I don't think warzone made stuff from resin, so I honestly don't know. That really is something I have never seen before.

Dude has a lot of contempt, therefore: Chaos Contemptor Dreadnought.

However, I have never seen that miniature before. That looks too much like an assault cannont to be a coincidence.

Maybe dig through the Citadel Minatures and see if you can find it.

It does have a very old Games Workshop-y look to it. I myself am totally stymied.

Could we have a size comparison picture to, say, a Dreadnought?

Looks like something trying to look like GW. Also partly resembles a Cyberdemon.

It really doesn't look GW to me, but I can't place it.

It looks very Warzone or at least Warzone influenced. The rotary cannon shows up rather often in the Warzone weapons and the arrows coming off the face and the face's slightly cartoony features also look very reminicent of figures from the Dark Symetry faction.

Did Mutant Chronicles (the RPG/figure line before warzone in the same universe) have any resin? Warzone had a very limited line of resin, but the only examples I've seen have been vehicles made by armorcast. This having come from Europe makes it less likely that it was manufactured by Armorcast.

If no one here figures it out today, I'll post it over at TMP and see what some of the old-timers might know about it.

Whatever the case, congrats on scoring a cool old-school mini!

Kid Kyoto for the win!

Scotia Grendel's got some cool stuff, but their shipping to the USA is prohibitively high.

The mini-gun does bear a striking resemblence to this warzone mini, which I believe is also made of resin:

That's not a Warzone mini.

That was a metal cast from the second edition Warzone. I think this was one of the Bauhaus battlepods.

Sorry, I must have missed that it was already answered, thanks for bringing those guys to my attention, haven't heard of them and that sabre 4 legged walker looks awesome, and precisely what I was looking for for a stalk tank.

Huh, interesting. Their prices look quite reasonable, is the company any good?

I ahve some of their stuff, the Aliens like APC and it was a bit blocky but works.

The void stuff they inherited is a bit small next to GW models but great quality.

I never ordered directly from them though so I can't speak to that.

Wow, blast from the the past. I have the Mk I War Golem around somwhere, and also the Thunderhammer tank, which I lolled when I saw the picture on their site has the tracks on upside down.

He's got a mind like a steel trap. By which I mean it can only hold one idea at a time;
it latches on to the first idea to come along, good or bad; and it takes strenuous effort with a crowbar to make it let go.

I have the Leviathan rule book somewhere, it was a cool concept.

You could play steampunk dwarves holed up in their mountians waiting for the final battle.

Human barbarians who could turn into godzilla-sized elementals

Orcs who had basically destroyed all of civilization.

Or the demon-possessed elves who were out to destroy the rest.

Basically someone looked at WH Fantasy and said, it's a good start but not nearly grimdark enough.

While I can't really comment on the rules since I never played it, I picked up one of the regular dwarf golems similar in size/shape to the one the OP posted and a few of their minis packs. Even after all these years, their artwork still remains some of the best I've seen (their main artist Adrian Smith later moved on to GW but his artwork there just seemed too busy IMHO).

My personal favorite story element was that the orc "God" is a giant animated mountain of corpses that is carried from battle to battle on a huge platform. Every orc shaman gave their life voluntarily in a ceremony to bring their deity directly into the world and he sprung up (at the waist) from the mountain of their corpses.

Back when GW orcs looked like this...

Leviathan had this!
