So I was just talking to one of the employees at my FLGS and he told me tau have been unable to restock for about as long as necrons at their store. Has anyone else heard/ seen this sort of thing? It could mean the November release is still up in the air, or that maybe 2 xenos books will be released back to back.

Price of Tau Codex was reduced, it's generally a sign that they want to get rid of the existing stock. Same happened to Necron Codex (which is now OOP) and Black Templars. Likely hints which books are next in line?

If I was GW and allowed my longstanding hatred of BT since they spun put of the standard codex and CA. I would update BT between crons and Tau before 6ed comes.

Or the Tau held a really big wakey-wakey party for the Necrons, who are not pleasant people until their third cup of coffee..

I'm hoping they get released back to back, as the last few years have been a sea of Power Armour, with only Dark Eldar really standing out for the Xenos. The Nid codex is new, but half the models are still missing in action, and the codex is far from outstanding..

That's nonsense, you can restock tau just fine, only the metal commander kit is now mail order only, a bit bad for a compulsory unit.

IMO, with all the Tau Fluff that has come out in 5th (Taros, the page or so in the Nid Codex, Savage Scars[?]) I doubt they'll be squatted.

I would like a Q2 2012 release for Tau

prolly have BT Q1 2012 release. Don't want too many Xenos getting updated at once.

My FLGS stocks tau just fine he gets in commaders, suits, kroot, stealths, warriors, pirhanas and devilfish. But I don't think Tau will get an update until 6th comes out or next year in March at the earliest.

I doubt they will do a back to back Xenos release. Power armor sells, if you haven't reconciled that the game largely revolves around Space Marines yet, you should. It's a corporate and popular trend.
The long lack of Tau love probably has more to do with the fact the first two Tau Codexes came so close together. I maintain my belief if any two chapters get slammed with a 5ed twilight dex it'll be BT or DA. BT are the more recent Models so DA is due for a digital sculpt and new plastics. New hero models for DA too which is what makes me think BT will go first. I'm just shooting in the dark but I'm personally certain that Tau will not be squatted in the near future, that Necrons are next (virtually guaranteed) then BT, then Tau. 6ed HAS to launch with a new SM and I would almost hope a tandem launch with Chaos Legions. Best way to push a new edition is to take the central heroes and villans up to date and set the one for the edition.

The reason power armour sells so well is because it's percieved as the powerful, win-button faction, and that it's massively supported by gw as being the ones who always win in every game, book etc , as much as the fact that it's the humans.

If marines were as heavily supported as necrons, and the Crons had over half the books, all the games etc they would be the big sellers

The vibe i'm generally getting from most folks is that they are sick to death of Marines with everything, and want a change.

Necrons absolutely, definitely next 40K codex, looks like November as this weird fantasy fleet thing is actually coming. I heard that such a thing was coming out but I refused to believe it! I have been proven wrong and I am now 100% certain on Necrons for November.

My informant told me the following several months ago:
September - Ogres (tick)
October - unexpected, left-field release of new fantasy naval game (tick, latest WD clearly has an advert for this)
November - Necrons (2 out of 3 so far, so I am pretty confident!)

Could be hoodwinked but its adding up...

Yes, at my gaming club they say that the next few 40k releases will be Tau, Necron and Chaos Space Marines (not in order)
