I agree very much with tetrisphreak. I own one of each model and the Hierophant is simply awesome in large Apocalypse games. The last game I played saw both Hierodules go down fairly quickly to Melta fire. Heartbreaking. However, the Hierophant was unstoppable.
It is certainly harder to find games where the Hierophant will have a chance to play, whereas you can always just use one of the Hierodules in a smaller game. You would have more flexibility with the Hierodules, but you'll have one of the absolute best Apocalypse units in the Hierophant.
From a modelling standpoint, the Hierophant has a few 'issues.' I don't recommend you allow him to stand very long by himself. The rear 'feet' may hold up, but the front limbs and 'feet' are ridiculously thin. I have a display base built (not painted or finished) where he lives when not being used and a small six inch oval base I put under him for game time as I don't trust him to be on his own for very long.
They are all amazing models, but the Hierophant is just downright scary looking and will definitely turn heads.
