I've been toying with the idea of hiring out to get some miniatures made. Don't know a thing about and thought I'd ask here as to how I go about hiring out to get some miniatures made?

I don't need very many, and the ones I need are for my own use.

How much am I looking at shellinbg out for the service, Is there a minimum number of minis, and the like...

Basicly looking at information, and some POC's into how to get started.

At Games Workshop, we believe that how you behave does matter. We believe this so strongly that we have written it down in the Games Workshop Book. There is a section in the book where we talk about the values we expect all staff to demonstrate in their working lives. These values are Lawyers, Guns and Money.

Are you looking for just a couple of greens, or do you want them to be casted as well?

We normally get quotes of around $200~$600 for a green, depending on the sculptor, mini's final size, bits, tilt of the earth in correlation of the sun.

Molding is around $200 for a master, $100 for a production, and then metal costs of the miniatures. Depending on which casting house you go with can change these rates and minimums.

If you're just looking for a sculptor to make some greens for you you can try posting on The miniatures page

http://theminiaturespage.com/

or another site that has some good sculptors hanging around is Frothers

If you're not interested in master molds and the likes, and just want to add some custom made models to your collection, then I would suggest using http://www.bluetablepainting.com

the guy running the buisness is called Shawn, and they're very well established in the community as a serious painting and modelling service. The company is about 10 people in total and one of them is a sculptor. Some of his stuff can be seen on their youtube channel (which is awesome btw), most recently he custom made an entire Dark Elf army. And in general, their stuff is very high quality.

But check out their still pictures or some of their HD photos (have to go about a month back on the YT channel for those) and if you like their style try and give Shawn a call, he's the definition of customer service and their motto is that they will make what ever you want them to make. Can only recommend them in the strongest if you want a professional, quick and reliable product (and they work fast on top of it ).

Cheers,

Gorlack

Saddened on behalf of all the Ultramarines, Salamanders and White Scars players who got their Codex rolled into Codex: Black Templars.
