Hey Everyone-

I have been looking to get back into fantasy for a while (haven't played since 7th edition) and came across a "too good to pass up deal" at my FLGS. All for $225 I got:

-3 Warlords
-2 Warlock Engineers
-2 Master Moulders
-120 clan rats
-20 Plague Monks
-8 Rat Ogres
-6 Giant Rats
-2 Warpfire Throwers
-2 Poisoned Wind Mortars

So! Dakka!!! Help a brother out! My gaming group is hyper competitive (which from what I read is a good environment to have Skaven in) and I want to make the "list to beat". Money isn't an issue as far as adding stuff in (I think I really like the warp lightning cannons, skaven magic, and the models for the bell/plague furnace). What can we make with the above stuff and any additions to give my friends a heck of a time?

I'm sorry to say that unless those models are painted you may not have gotten as good a deal as you believe. Judging by the numbers you got 2 sets if IoB skaven and a battalion box, which should really only run you in the range of 150-ish, plus a bit for the extra Warlord.

That said:

1. Warp Lightning Cannon. They're cheap, deadly and awesome at killing whatever needs to die. I have yet to play a game where they don't end up the MVP.

2. Another Warp Lightning Cannon. Seriously, they're amazing.

3. If you plan on running a Furnace, you'll need more Plague Monks. In that case, another battalion box wouldn't go amiss as you'll want more Clan Rats for use as slaves anyway. Wouldn't worry about a Plague Monk, as the Furnace comes with one. Even after the battalion box though you might consider grabbing yet another box of Plague Monks. The Furnace makes them Unbreakable, which is awesome, and they're pretty deadly in their own right.

4. If your enemies tend to have a good amount of artillery or monsters, a few Gutter Runners w/ Poisoned Slings are ideal. These guys are all metal, or you can get the Night Runner box and convert a few up. None are fantastic models I'm afraid.

5. The Bell/Furnace box comes with a Grey Seer. Many people fix him up a little to go on a base, as the Grey Seer is our bread and butter high level caster.

Thanks for the suggestions!!! Yeah, I don't remember exactly what it was, but I know the game owner said it was 2 IoB sets, 1 Battalion, a box of ogres, an HPA, and a couple other things. When I did the math in my head at the store it was pushing $400 for the value. But anyway..

Is the bell any good? I think I like what the furnace can do, but I am having trouble figuring if the benefits are worth it?
