So, I've got relatively eclectic musical tastes. I'm always looking for something new or different to see what I think.
So, I thought I'd come to Dakka for more ideas.

Here is the concept... You mention a band, group, singer, etc. that you like. The next person (preferably who is familar with the artist lol) in line suggests a groupt (etc.) that is similar, then names a group (etc.) that he likes.

Example:
Maybe I start our with "I like Eminem." The next person in line might respond with, "If you like Eminem, then you might like Dr. Dre." He would, then, go on to name a band he likes.

Hopefully, this might help us all expand out musical interests by discovering new bands that we've never heard before.
...then again, maybe this thread will just fall on it's face. : )

So, here's my start:

I recently discovered that I like The Asteroids Galaxy Tour.

Eric

Buy more albums. Nothing wrong with owning two or three.

For a discussion like you propose to work you need to initially pick a more known/popular artist to work out from.

Asking people to suggest a band that is similar to band they likely have never heard/heard of of is an odd request...

@CT
I specifically chose Dakka because I've watched other musical threads over the years that had a lot of people posting that they liked a lot of bands I'd never heard of. My hope was that someone HAD actually heard of them. I'd like to find more bands similar but, since they're not even well known in the US (they're Danish and I never heard of them before they were on the recent Heineken commercial) and I don't know anyone really that diverse musically, I wanted to give it a shot.
It would defeat the purpose of the thread to use a different band. I'm not looking for bands that sound different from them. I'm looking for those with the same sound.

That said, I've already reported a couple posts for derailing the thread... and quickly.
I'd like to thank those few who took the thread seriously and ask that the Mods go ahead and lock this. It's going nowhere quick.

That is true remilia but the point of this is you say a band and someone else suggests one

Yeah, you're right, it's just, I'm not sure about the other bands, so, I just picked 2 that sounded similar.

Well the left rights are two members of MSI working on a side project, so it makes sense they sound similar
