Just a quick question - does ignoring a person also prevent them from sending me private messages?

(Please, for all that is good in this world, say yes.)

Yes, it does.

Really? I had someone saying unintelligible things to me, and when I ignored them I didn't get any more PMs. Hmmm. Maybe he/she didn't want to insult me any more.

If they continue to send you unpleasant messages via pm and you aren't responding to the bait, you can report it and they will be punished if they are transgressing.

If you ignore a user can they still see your posts?

No idea why they couldn't, you're ignoring them.

Didn't know if it was like blocking someone on Facebook etc where if you block them then they can't see you.

I have this guy who I've never dealt with or had contact with before who seems set on annoying and frustrating me and posts unnecessarily in my threads.

I have reported him and he has been banned from other forums I'm on for similar behaviour but he's still on this one. Was hoping that if I added him to my Ignore list then it might stop him being able to post in my threads, guess not.

Just report them if they do then. It's called the yellow triangle of friendship for a reason, press it and rainbows shoot out over the thread showering happiness in the form of red/orange text.

Anyway to keep the ignore "up" when logged out?
Or do you have to login everytime to avoid the posts?

When you say unnecessarily what do you mean? If he's spamming, trolling or generally causing offense you have reason. If he just seems to post unhelpful words, there is no proble.

However, if you feel like it should be dealt with, it's fine to press the mod alert. You don't get punished if you make a mistake, but if you are right, he will be warned.

Just stay vigilant and alert the mods to anything you think is out of place.

Pretty sure it'd only be linked to the account.
