How is the the Contemptor Dreadnought for you guys, both model wise and game wise? I'd like to purchase one, however I don't want to buy something that I'd regret.

The model seems to look pretty solidly constructed, and I like the fact that the arms are variable enough to be able to easily put a gun or DCCW onto either side. The model looks extremely pose-able judging by the positions that the model is in. Not only that, but the weapons look so cool for it. Heavy conversion beamer anyone?

Even though it's a bit expensive points wise an armor 13 walker never lets anybody down. Fleet of Mechanical Boot is AWESOME and it ignores 1/3 of the shots fired at it. The 6++ in combat is nothing to rely on, but when it actually saves the Dreadnought it's a good thing. Kheres Pattern Assault Cannon seems really tight. Also, they don't craze.

The only thing that gets me is the final clause on the page that says, "Until a specific variant of this unit is featured in an upcoming book, the Contemptor as listed here may also be used in a Codex Chaos Space Marines Army. " Does this mean that I should wait to buy anything? Is this foreshadowing a Chaos Contemptor? If that's the case I'd rather wait on my purchase.

Its a fantastic looking model, as long as you paint him right (remember they are at least 10k years old, rust and weather em), they will look badass on any Marine army.

Waaagh!

Eye of Terra.

The models are posable and beautiful.

They look so much different than the later marks that the Contemptor to some, can either give you the impression that they are indeed from another more glorious time in Imperial history, or, they don't look like imperial material at all. I have heard both view points at my game group.

I own several and plan to add them to my Heresy Thousand Sons.

Lets hope it doesn't foreshadow a chaos contemptor but a CHAOS SPACE MARINE CODEX.

Space Marines have these guys. I think they're claled techmarines. They repair things. And paint them.

Especially relics, Techmarines would spend years polishing and maintaining these things if given a chance. In fact they're probably hesitant for them to see combat.

It's a great model. Actually planning on purchasing one for display purposes. Friend of mine offered to create a diorama for it once i have it properly painted. Hope it'll turn out great in the end.

Your honor is your life, let non dispute it!

The Experimental rules say that, until a Chaos version is released, that Chaos uses those rules. This implies they will end up releasing a Chaos version(Marks, Sonic Weaponry...)

Self-proclaimed evil Cat-person. Dues Ex Felines

Subjective judgement and all, but it's a beautiful, imposing miniature on the battlefield, and the design is one of Forge World's best. It even comes with two sets of feet!
