Ok, let me start immediately with my questions:

a) Battlesuits names:

-XV8, XV81, XV84, XV89 are all Crisis suit.
-XV15, XV22, XV25 are stealth suits.
-XV88, XV88-2 are Broadsides.
-XV-9, XV 9-04, XV 9-01 are new type of Hazard Close Support Armour.

How are they giving them names? Is there some kind of special order, class, characteristic? And what XV means anyway?

b) Do all Fire Warriors after xx years of service get Battlesuits? Or there is some special rule for that?

c) What are effects after long usage of the suit? Is there some kind of neural damage or something else.

d) From what materials is one suit made? How strong it is ( fell free to compare it to anything you think it is close to )?

e) How many weapon systems can 1 standard suit have ( From what I saw it's 3 so far. One for right arm, one for right arm and one on shoulders )? And does every of that systems has it's own unique target finders?

f) How numerous are Battlesuits in standard Tau army ( How many battlesuits was at Democles, Taros, Ke'lshan )?

Okay i don't know the answer to these but, considering the amount of Tau threads you make Coa, are you sure you're not a Tau fan?

My Tau fluff is a bit behind, sorry if some of this is wrong.

a) the first number denotes mass, second number signifies purpose iirc. Therefore, XV15 would mean lightest mass, Stealth suit. (5 stands for Stealth iI guess), whereas XV22 signifies second to lowest mass, and experimental battlesuit. XV9 seems to build on this, being larger and more heavily armed than XV8 of any type.

b) Fire warriors that survive four years of war take a Trial of Fire. Those that pass earn the right to wear a battlesuit, and the rank of Shas'Ui. every four years afterwards, they may take another Trial to advance in rank.

c) This I don't know of, but I guess that there are little if any side effects. I guess that more experienced pilots have trouble when moving without a battlesuit due to spending much time wearing one.

d) Courage and Honour depicts Battlesuits made of some kind of metal iirc.

e) Crisis variant has 3 systems, but XV88 has 4 spots. I believe that arm mounts are more common due to easier aiming there, but both shoulders could easily be used as well. I believe that all weapons are linked to a helmet-based targeting system that is connected on squad level (and why specific Target Lock system allows for separate targeting). Commander Shadowsun's weapons may have individual targeting arrays as she may split fire.

f) I'll leave this question to someone with Imperial Armour books.

I'm interested, however, about wether or not a battlesuit pilot specializes on either Stealth or Crisis variants, or will they switch as needed?

A - the first number is it's mass class. Maybe tonnage? Eg the old stealth suits were smaller and so were 18, the new ones are 22/25.

B - I think so if they survive X years they get promoted, then again and then again. After that they can become sort of 'consultants' and strategists rather than front line fighters

C - I think they go crazy and confuse it for their 'actual' body.

D - super duper tau stuff

E - 3 but can only fire 2. In theory there are 4 hard points (2 arms 2 shoulders)

A) the suit naming is actually quite complex. The XV identifies it as a battlesuit. The first number is it's weight class and the next number is it's availability. This information comes for page 35 of the tau codex.

B) You need a trial by fire (doing something impressive in combat or living through something hard) to be promoted to your next rank. It's a few ranks in that you get a suit.

C) Battlesuit nerouse (spelling). It's mental condition mostly caused by battlefield affects. You get aggressive and start to fight for the join of fighting. I think it's actually a form a chaos corruption, but that's just my guess.

D) Crystalline alloy. It's the same stuff they put on there tanks, but apart from game rules I can't think of any way to judge how strong it is.

E) Three systems per suit is the rules for the game. the suit has 4 hard points for mounting, but you probably can't mount 4 plasma guns on one suit. There are power issues to consider. Broadsides have extra power in them so they can have a more. Stealth suits can only mount one gun except for the XV22 that has two. Though you might be able to find even more verity of suits that can mount more and less.

F) In atypical cradre (codex page 22) you have 8. Some might have more or less. Most battles like democles, or taros have more then one cradre. I believe that taros had 5.

a) The number relates to the suits mass class. All XV 8s are roughly in the same mass class, while a stealth suit is a lighter suit

b. Already answered, but they test for the suit

c. Yes and no. There is battle suit neurosis, which leads to Monats (although this usually comes from loss of fellow squad mates, it can also come from pilots who become to erratic to be part of a team), no neural damage like you would be thinking though

d) don't know

e) It depends. A XV-8 is a standard crisis, and it can have 3 systems externally. These can be any combination of weapons and wargear, it also has nothing to do with arm or back positioning. A XV-22 or XV-15 can carry one weapon system and one secondary (wargear) system, but can also carry a marker light (only the team leads carry them, but it would mean any of them could carry it). Note that suits can have additional gear in the form of hard wired equipment, although these cannot be weapons.

The XV names are given by human Imperials, not Tau, as Tau don't have the number 9 (8 digits at the hand, 8 numbers on the Tau decal sheet by FW). Same with terran fish names for the tanks of a desert planet.

Then how do they know that the XV-22 is experimental? The second 2 is suppose to stand for an experimental weapon. If the IoM is the one naming them, then how do they know it's a experimental variant?

Gathering the Informations.

If you only see it in one warzone, it's likely experimental.

Seeing only one of something can mean anything. (The IoM has see at least two VX-22.) It could be custom built, A rare one of a kind (IoM has a lot of things like that), maybe even really common on other fronts.

Xv means Xar'vesa It is a combination of Xar( Physical) and Vesa(helper). The first number is the Weight class, the second number notes other characteristics (like the second two in the XV22 tells us it is still experimental)

b) Do all Fire Warriors after xx years of service get Battlesuits? Or there is some special rule for that? After they are promoted to Shas'uis, they can get a battlesuit.

c) What are effects after long usage of the suit? Is there some kind of neural damage or something else. dunno, but there are reports of Ghost Pains from XV8 pilots whose suits are damaged.

Answers in bold. Dunno the other ones.
