I am Very interested in seeing pics and/or a video of this! New ogres are sooooo awesome... particularly interested in hearing how the new units do (firebelly, mournfang cavalry, stonehorn).

So how did the game go today? A synopsis would be sweet as well as any specific unit thoughts.

Lizards won by 250ish points. but the total was only 1350 VPs for them.

At this points level, I consider that a Draw.

I had smashed into his Temple Guard with my Bulls(only 5 were left), my Mournfangs were chewing down 1 block of saurus, and my Ironguts had beaten and run down another block of saurus.

The Ironblasters were great. I killed a Ancient Steg in 1 shot. the other dug into the ground. 2nd turn, one misfired and couldn't shoot next turn, and the other's shot was saved by the Engine's 5+ ward. Unfortunantly, his Old Blood on Carnasaur and Engine of the Gods got off some charges on them and I was just outside general's ld range and both were killed(although they did cause a wound with Grapeshot)

Stonehorn wiped another Ancient Steg out, but he overran into a Krox/skink unit and got flank charged by a Saurus block. He had taken some skink fire earlier and lost his last wound.

I didn't get a single spell off due to horrible rolling and low Winds. He didn't fare much better with magic although he got a couple off.

the Carasaur and Engine also charged the block of 9 ogres which had my 2 Butchers in it. I lost by 1 and failed my Stubborn Ld(with BSB reroll) that was 600ish points and that was what lost me the game.

Though it was about to be my turn and things could possibly change very quickly.
My Carnosaur and 2 Ancients are in the rear of your Bulls and I have a fresh Skink/Krox unit ready to flank charge your bulls.
Magic wise, if I roll low I would have used the Forbidden Rod, so I will get some spells off.
On the other side I still have a Skink Krox and an engine to fight the Iron guts.

There was some pretty hilarious high light for the game though, including the Carnosaur and the Engine wiping out a block of bulls and 2 Butchers in one turn and Slave Giants charging and dieing to 5 Camo Skinks without doing a single thing. Salamanders misfiring more often than they shoot is pretty funny too. (Extra tasty handlers? )

Looking back I think I should have concentrated my monsters to run down one of your flanks (Was my original plan) Rather than splitting them up.
That and bring more skinks!

you actually only won because your carnasaur and Steg ran that block down. they were worth over 600 points. If they had held I would have won.

Still, it was a good game. and actually that was turn 6 I belive, so the game actually fully ended. we finished it.

Yeah, 600 points you ran down with your models that rolled horribly and just barely won combat.

I'm surprised at how few VPs were gained in such a large battle, and without too many deathstar-type units. Thanks for the summary (and the response, Jackster ).

There was only 1 round where our infantry blocks were actually in combat. everything else was Gnoblars mugging Skinks who were peppering my other units.

I am heartened by the fact my Irongut unit managed to break and run down that Saurus block. The bulls nearly wiping the Temple Guard out was nice too(although it wasn't unexpected)

the Mournfangs only took 3 wounds in 2 rounds of combat against the Saurus block and they won combat solidly each time, even with boosted Flesh to Stone on them. Cold Blooded meant they didn't run though. I look forward to Str3 enemies.

Yea well, those Mornfang cost almost twice as much as that unit of Saurus, so they winning is not that big of a shocker. Same for those Ironguts with Slaughter Master really.
TGs held, like they are suppose to.
