Here is my first attempt at any type of blending using glaze medium and lots of water. All C&C you can give is very much appreciated. Thanks so much!!!

I really like it. The only thing I would change is the gradient from white to turquoise - it could be a bit smoother.

Other than that, great work!

I'm confues about why the gradiant would go to the extreme ends on the two faces of the halbard, I wouuld expect the gradiant to work its way up or down the sword.

Yeah that was something I will be working on for my next attempt. How would you go about it? I watered down my paint in a ratio of 1 drop paint to 10 drops water to 10 drops glaze medium. Maybe just work up the blade faster - if that makes sense? Any tips or tricks to accomplish a smoother change in gradient is appreciated.

Thanks so much!!

Wet blending still is something I need to get the proper hang of. I do most of my blending with my trusty airbrush, which yields excellent results in only a fraction of the time.

This took me about 5 minutes or even less:

But I still plan on buckling down and learning how to wetblend with a brush, cause sometimes there are places where an airbrush would be impractical.

Cheers,

Yeah I have been working on researching an airbrush just to do weapons, I love the way they come out while using an airbrush. Maybe someday when I have the money.
