This is my first shot at a real tournament list. I did well at my local event with it placing 3rd out of 16 with only really bad luck causing me not to be in finals. Please let me know what you think

Basic list is fine, but what I would potentially suggest is:

* run 2 5 man stormie squads - one plasma and one melta rather than one big squad
* get a second vendetta for the list
* not keen on russes in a squadron, so just run one and use the other points on the vendetta
* i'd swap one of the medusa or collusus for a manticore

Normal mech Guard list TBH.

I don't see the point of the Storm Troopers. For nearly 200 points they are doing the same job as a veteran unit without a dedicated transport (so when they bail out the Valkyrie they will get shot up and die). I would just take plasma Vets, cheaper points and more plasma guns.

Russes don't need lascannons. The S8 is for busting infantry and light armour, the lascannon is just too expensive.

Oh, Vendettas should be in pairs.

Yeah, the Stom troopers are somewhat confusing to me, as it is super rare to see them in a non-suicide AT role and in a anti-infantry role. I will assume they are in Recon mode or Behind Enemy Lines for that role???

I like having a unit in the Vendetta for late game objective capturing/contesting (thus a troop choice). But I have to agree with most of what Mercer and Rum has stated.
