Hey all, I'm still rather new at this and have recently purchased some mini's with power weapons (swords, axe, lightning claws). I would like to know how to paint them to give it that really awesome look/effect. I already tried my own by looking stuff up online. What I'm really looking for is how to paint them but have a red/orange glow instead of the blue/white. Both style's are welcome, I already have the colors for the blue/white version, but I would really like to know what color's needed to create the red/orange version. All tips and advice are appreciated. Thank you!

base coat red (mecharite red)
drybrush the ends with 50/50 blood red mecharite red
highlight with 50/50 orange/mecharite (or blood red)

then paint thin jagged lines with orange when they dry paint overthem in thin white to give a lightning effect.

I washed over it in baal red.

Here's an example: LINK

I would rather basecoat in mechrite red, then paint it with blood red, then layer it towards the edges adding blazing orange with every layer, finally highlight it with blazing orange + a little golden yellow.
