With the remaining 30 points I was thinking upgrades for the command squad, maybe take plasmas instead of meltas (meltas are just what I have modeled atm). But not sure where to go from there. maybe melta bombs on sgts? just not sure

Also, for the missions this gives me 8 scoring units that are T4(5) and move 12" assault 6"

The only downside I see with the list is that you have absolutely no horde control. yes this is a decent list, but against a 5x 30 man horde of boyz it doesn't have the firepower to bring down enough to scare them. may want to look into HF or HB speeders over the preds, keeps with the fluff and gives you some anti swarm control

I have to Agree. You need something for hordes. 2 H.Flamer Multimelta Landspeeders might go a long way for Horde and AT.

OK, updated list. I know it's been a while but travel and life made it hard to get this put together. Time to run it down.

So now has horde control, only lost 1 MM in the FA slots. Gained two plasmaguns total lost 1 thunderhammer (not too worried about this). The command squad now has a distinct purpose in heavy infantry hunting and has enough firepower to be horde control to a certain extent too. Lots of tank hunting in the troop squads and speeders and supression from the rifleman dreads.

I like it . Obviously going to need a fine tactical display to win with weak but mobile units . Sounds like fun.

I wouldn't say bikes are weak. they may be less durable without a transport but they are still T5 and a full squad of them (no upgrades) costs only 50 points (I think that's right) more than a tac squad with a rhino. But you are right, I will need to play tactically to win with this. Outflanking plasma command squad go!

Bikes are always a blast..speed,manuverablitiy..outflanking.

BUT

If an objective is on the 2nd or 3rd floor of a ruin/building,you sir are hosed.

Tactical squad will help..or scouts.

Something to think about.

And if there are road blocks and lots of trees they will also be stuck.
If there is an empty killing field short range armies will be slaughtered.
If there is no LoS then tank armies will falter.

All I mean if you have a table with 3 story buildings in exactly the 5 required spots, Ithink that is the mission, Then yes it has failed written all over it .
