2 months ago i thought up a new style for a tabletop game that is a mix of an RPG, and a wargame, that would play a bit like an online shooter, with a large map setup, players that play a single character, objectives, and a large amount of cooperation between players. and it is a fast paced game that only requires a few d12s per player (several for the sake of convience)

the only parts that might not work is the playercount, this game would require at least 4 players per side, so you'd have to set it up ahead of time, not just a quick pickup game. another thing would be terrain, i imagine that a good game would require quite a bit of quality terrain and an upwards of 3 story buildings.

but, if anyone's interested i'd be glad to post what i have in the way of rules for some constructive criticism.

Anything like FRAG?

What harm can it do to find out? It's a question that left bruises down the centuries, even more than "It can't hurt if I only take one" and "It's all right if you only do it standing up." Terry Pratchett, Making Money

"Can a magician kill a man by magic?" Lord Wellington asked Strange. Strange frowned. He seemed to dislike the question. "I suppose a magician might," he admitted, "but a gentleman never could." Susanna Clarke Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell

i've never heard about it before now, but seeing it, yes. quite a bit like that, except no grid, movement is done through measuring instead.

I would play this. Could you write up an alpha and I could try it at my club. It sounds like something I as thinking of.

Many and varied forces in progress according to waxing & waning whims.

I may never finish an army in my life.
