So, there have been numerous times I've wanted to add a picture to one of my posts, only to be defeated by not knowing how to add a picture from my desktop to a post. Anybody able to help me out? Figured this was the only place on the forum to ask and potentially get a workable response, but MODS, feel free to move it if you have to.

Upload it using a site like Imgur or Photobucket.

I assume I have to have a membership and all that stuff to do it? Not really a quick 'from the desktop' solution at all, is there? Alright, well...if I have to join...blah

You don't need a membership to upload images on Imgur.

If it's war gaming related you can either add it to the gallery (see the link at the top of the page) or as an attachment (look for the attachments button on the bottom of your post).

If it's not related then post on something like image shack and link to it.

If it's a wargaming image, please try and use the gallery first. Our servicemen overseas generally cannot see images that are hosted on any of the free sites like Photobucket etc, but Dakka will work fine.

+1 but never mind the servicemen (and women) they should be busy enough, it's the bored and workblocked that need these images!

It's my pet Dakka hate when Dakkanauts (especially those that should know better!) link from other hosts and there are a dozen posteres saying how cool everything is but I can't see Jack-gak!

And the point on using the gallery is a good one, a lot of popular photo sites are blocked for servicemen and people at work.

BUT I will delete anything that's not wargame related so keep the pictures of your cat etc on another server.

And if you post something that might not be obvious please put a title on the pic so I and other mods understand why it's in the gallery (ie 'I'm thinking of painting my tyranids like this parrot').
