Hello,

I know that GW buildings can be painted by undercoating in Black GW spray and painting in GW paints - but is there a cheaper alternative using non GW paints?

Thanks in advance

Get in Halfords or Motorworld for your sprays(many different shades for undercoating).Antics or your flgs will no doubt carry a range of different paints.Hope that helps ya.

I would get some halfway decent spray paints as a start to your buildings - not GW ones, unless you want to go broke! Their primers are really good, though, I will give them that.

If you get a base color for your buildings, then you may also be able to get a lighter version of the same color to kind of 'dust' over the top, picking out flat surfaces and highlights quickly.

Then you can also use some cheaper acrylic paints like Ceramcoat or something like that and drybrush and wash on the details and shadows that you need.

For big jobs like buildings, I wouldn't use your GW paints, so have a look about.

House paint. Make sure they're water-based.

Violence is not the answer, but it's always a good guess.
