Hey all,
Been struggling with this dilemma for some time. I'm trying to write up some more fluff behind my wolves, starting with my Wolf Lord, then onto the Great Company itself and since I want to edge this GC into being a bit more dedicated to sniffing out Chaos in all forms.....
I wanted to have some fluff about an Ordo Malleus Inquisitor for some reason (haven't written it down yet..) traveling with my Wolf Lord's retinue, plus she'll be included into the Apocalypse datasheet I'm going to write up for the Lord and his retinue.
Any suggestions work, I've searched around GW quite a bit trying to figure out if I could kitbash -anything- but I can never come to terms with the things I find...

I had used an old necromunda bounty hunter figure for a female inquisitor. She had a combi bolter in one hand and a severed head in the other. Just checked the website and they, annoyingly, don't make it anymore. Could probably find one on ebay, though.

A friend of mine got me a metal figure to represent the Inquisitrix that leads our Dark Heresy party, though I have no idea where she comes from. I think it is a non-40K miniature, though, as the pistols in her hands look a bit archaic, and the coat and hat look more western, or WitchHunter-y, than the stormcoats of the 40k characters.
It's still an awesome fig for the character.
In all honesty? If GW doesn't have what you're looking for, I would suggest checking out Reaper.

There are some who walk until their legs fail them and they fall to the ground. I find that respectable.
Then there are those who drag themselves further. I find that admirable. |

@Kroothawk
I've looked at the official models and....my god, no way. As is general consensus around here, GW doesn't know how to create females.
@Toastedandy
Now thats something I'm looking more towards, really fantastic detail on that.

The hair on the official models is done, more or less, in what is called the "Elizabethan Style". It is pulled away from the face so as to appear more strict and commanding, and poofed up to make them appear taller. They even included a small crown like hat.

That indeed is a nice model, I have 10 of various Infinity models as my counts as Sisters of Battle. THey look ok.
However, for a hero you might want to look for something more epic: I used a "Mater Lacrimosa" http://www.kabukimodels.com/index.php?go=produkt&id=3 for when I allied Sisters to my Space Marines.
She is a bit taller than GW models, but since she's crouching, it should still be ok.

That Saint Mary model is pretty fitting for an inquisitor.

The problem with those models have nothing to do with the capability of the sculptor to sculpt the female form. Those models feel pretty ladylike while maintaining an air of authority expected from an inquisitor. Personally I dig the Victorian aesthetic, just not this particular haircut and it's unfortunate the three models have not more variations.
For me the only real problem is the face and I think it's the problem of many models, male and female, especially the older ones. But we usually don't mind if the males don't have appealing faces and for that I blame our hetero male bias. And don't get me wrong here, I'm speaking about execution. Female inquisitors should look old, experienced and intimidating. I'm sorry but if you field a young and sexy inquisitor I will have a hard time taking you seriously. If you don't want to be taken seriously, then, by all means, enjoy yourself.
I've looked at Infinity models a while back and while I find them to be well executed, I was greatly annoyed by their tendency to sculpt females as if they were doing pin ups. Depicting the female form as something desirable, beautiful and erotic is alright. Systematically using this approach is wrong. It's very easy to succumb to our strongest feelings and desires and create all of our female characters has femmes fatales, as much as it's easy to create mary sues. Take into consideration the setting, the rank and occupation of the character and come up with something plausible. Might be challenging. So what?
Unfortunately, finding plausible female models for war games is rather difficult. :(

@ yevix
I may be sold on the Saint Mary model....
@ Der Immolator
I hear what you're saying and understand what you're getting at. And its not necessarily the case of wanting a young and sexy Inquisitor, though I do admits the appearance of those official ones do not appeal to me as much as the others here. However, its more than just that. Yes, these Inquisitors certainly give off the air of command and superiority and while they certainly deserve such praise...you have to remember this: This particular Inquisitor will be fighting within a Wolf Lord's retinue and as I stated above, this Great Company is more keen on hunting Chaos. The Inquisitors above don't show the ferocity and readiness that would be expected of her in a glory-seeking retinue.
Sure, they look great posing around with their weapons, but that Saint Mary model appeals to me because it looks like she's ready to bolter the nearest daemon down and then flail it's cultist summoner in the face! Same reason some of the Infinity models look good (...I think the female models wearing the thongs are a bit excessive, though!) There was one particular model on that website that made me chuckle, her pose was that of flying sideways through the air, shooting. Not something that blends well with 40k (or a Space Wolf retinue...) but its a level of aggressiveness I'm looking for.
@Ferman
It has...potential, brandishing a weapon but the pose is neutral. Obviously some custom work could be done..
