Well if you're putting the command squad in the Valkyrie, the Master of Ordnance will do you no good.

I assume you're taking 2 flights of 2 Valkyries? I would probably consider Vendettas because of all of the flamer action you have going on...

The Veterans are just so damn expensive I don't think I can go with it. All in all man, I don't see Straken giving you much benefit unless you stick in tight formation and even then, it will be tough. There's just not enough bodies and punch to be true Air Cav.

I could drop 2 of the Priest to upgreade to Vendetas and put the one remaing reist with Straken

Straken may be a fluffy catachan style choice for HQ, but his skilss really add little to the list. Despite his stats the CCS rarely lasts in combat, he is best used for adding to the power of a floot blob. Run a basic CCS (no bodyguard or advisors) and use the points saved on some special weapons for the CCS.

The priests also look excessive for units you really dont want in C/combat. You can lose them as well.

Stormies - you don't gain much from putting them up to 10 strong. They are a suicide unit with melta and you get the 2 special weapons for taking 5 of them anyway.

Vets - I wouldn't take them all as flamers - look to get some plasma/melta as well, but don't mix squads.

Points saved from priests, advisors, trimming stormies - you can probably get a vendetta and another CCS/vet squad. I would also run 1 more valk as a vendetta so you get 2 units with the lascannons for early tank killing.

I just don't see this list doing well at all.

Even if you Scout move Flat Out to get cover saves for your Valks, they are still 4 targets. And this is where moving Flat Out really screws you as now there is a 50% chance your wrecked on a Pen. And taking out a vehicle pretty much kills 50% of the troops in it. Meaning they will probably fail their morale check for the ones that survive so one way or another, your probably gonna lose the squad.

Remember the Astropath has to be on the board to give you the +1 on reserve rolls. Same with all of the other advisors. And the MoO can not move to call in arty, as stated.

Were does it say that?
All I can find is "While the Astropath/OotF are alive". I have found nothing about "Must be on the Table". The only FAQ about the Astropath/OotF says that if you have 2 of each, they don't stack, is says nothing about them being on the board.
