I will be going to the 2nd round of ard boys next week, but I need to figure out the best and most effective way of transporting an army from table to table.

The list I have has 165 models in it, 90% of which is on a 25mm base.

Any suggestions. My army easily covers a 2x2 board with not much wiggle room.

Thanks in advance.

Do you have any army cases? even pistol cases with egg crate foam with the minis on thier side will be suffcient, alternativly, pick and pull foam in army transports work very very well.

Buy an games workshop army case from amazon or summat and chop the foam to fit your models. If you already have a case I'd recommend kr multicase inserts as they fit 10 models per row, or 5 terminators depending on how you prefer

"Buy a GW case" is never really a good suggestion. They're not the best, nor the most efficient nor the most cost effective. Pretty much they're the worst choice

Gun case is an okay option. Sabol is a good choice if you want something inexpensive especially the motor pool bag. KR multicase is in the "cost effective" group, and is okay

Battlefoam is probably the best imo, as it carries the most, is the most efficient just it is expensive

I'm mostly talking from table to table. Where we have the strict 2.5 hours per fount, I can't spend a lot of time going from foam to table, particularly during deployment. I have plenty of cases, but it's just a matter of going from one end of the room to the other effectively. Sorry for the confusion.

Do what I did:
Get a piece of 2x3 Plywood.
Spray it the same color as the base of your minis.
Flock if desired.

Ta-da!

Other options:
- TV / Craft Trays (these are often the perfect size and some come with side legs that make them good for setting on the table without squishing terrain)
- White Boards (Bonus if your minis are magnetized)
- Cork Bulletin Board (Like the white board, but lighter)
- Pink Insulation Foam cut to shape (The old standard. Requires a hot knife or wire cutter)

Also, make sure when you pull casualties to put them on the tray in the spot where they should be. If you don't do this, then organize while waiting for your opponent to move or such.

A 2x2 tray is the best way to move your army from table to table.

Unload from foam onto the tray and off you go.

I've seen people use oven/baking trays. They are usually big enough, and have a nice lip to keep errant minis in line.

Heck, just use a bucket. Set them in and take them out gently. Metal on bottom, finecast on top. Deploy as you pull them out...
