So let me ask my fellow Dakkas what do we know about the Thexian Trade Empire - we know they love to trade and are like tau having many races part of their empire but what else.

And let me ask you this -the tau are allies with Nicassar and so is the trade empire - how are they both allied with the same race? (especially when tau really don't like sharing their allies)

That is a good question. The Thexian are allied with Borlac, Loxatl and Nicassar. Loxatl operate out of the bottom of the star map. The nicassar being with the tau would be on the east of the map a good distance from the Loxatl. If the Thexian has dealings with both, that means there empire is at least half the size of the IoM.

At frist I was thinking that the Thexian was something old and re cannoned out, but it's from the 5th book. It could be that the nicassar have been re cannoned to be outside of tau space?

It all seems quite sticky and a little bit snarly.

it could mean they may be allying together to fight against imperium - wouldn't that be a kick the birth maker for Imperium, aliens who hate you join up to make a huge force and it would keep with the theme for the greater good - joining together to better themselves - this would GW lots of opportunities to release many alien species like loxatl

Has the Nicassar homeworld been established?

If it has, they could have travelled the galaxy quite easily before they met the T'au.

I could imagine the T'au using long range communication to speak to other Alien empires if they could not physically meet them.

The Various mysterious Alien empires/races definitely need expanding on imho.

Nicassar manage to have strong relations with both I imagine, there are countries in the world like Pakistan that manage to have alliances with seemingly opposite sides like the US/China.

Thexians got fethed up by the Tyranids If I recall. That may also explain it. Shook up their confidence.

not only that the nicassar ships are powered by psychic energy their captain basically moves the ship around with his mind whilst they all sleep in stasis - tau also keep them hidden so that imperium doesnt attack them - alien psykers - DOUBLE HERESY
