I've been trying to improve my painting, here are a couple of my minis. Any constructive criticism or advise would be appreciated.

I think you're off to a good start. One of the things I could suggest is that you get good even coats of paint onto each area before you wash them. On the warboss it seems that he's a little splotchy in places, but it's hard to say for sure.

I would recommend using different wash colors for different areas. It seems you used black for most or all of your washed areas. Varying it up would help break up the figures a bit and make them more visually interesting.

A few highlights, carefully placed, would be a help as well. Little things like picking out Snikrots's stitches in his trousers would be good as well for adding interest.

For the bases, I would mix in a little sand that is different sizes. It feels very uniform right now, and different size grains and maybe small pebbles would help break that up. Painting over the basing and then washing and drybrushing it all will help the scale of your minis to appear larger, as well.

Hope that helps. Keep up with the painting. Maybe try out some of the suggestions and repost some pics of these guys, I'd like to see what you do!

Putting a tiny spot of orange in the eyes and visors would make them look a little better and take it easy on the washes. Multiple light washes look better than one heavy one.

How many Space Marines does it take to screw in a lightbulb.

6, 1 techpriest and 5 tacticals that stand around trying to pose like badasses.

An Ork, Space Marine and Eldar are walking down the road. They see a Chaos portal that has a sign on it. It says: 'say what is true or be sucked in'. The Space Marine says: "I think I'm the bravest" and walks past safely, the Eldar says: "I think I'm the most agile" and walks past safely. The Ork says: "Me thinks..." and gets sucked into the portal.
