Hello Everyone
Cdt here. Thought it was about time I contributed to DakkaDakka in some way, and what with the fantastic human Blood Bowl team sitting patiently in the painting queue since Christmas and my sheer desperation to get playing ball the choice of what to write about was not a hard one.
I’ve been keen on reconnecting with one of my old favourites for a long time, and Blood Bowl, as an untouched parody of the now ever so serious Warhammer Fantasy world, for me brings back fond memories of the golden age of games workshop, when I was much younger and only just discovered the world of war gaming.
Moving swiftly on, before I get to caught up in all this nostalgia, here is where I’ve set about putting them together.
For anyone who may be interested they are a fantastic set of models, all individual, well detailed, and fit in nicely with half fantasy, half real world atmosphere of BB.
The only very minor complaint i would have is that a couple of the models appear to be almost at a different scale to the rest of the box as can be seen below.
For the team name I’ve decided on the Wissenberg Warhawks, loosely based on the Seattle Seahawks who were my favourite NFL team (why I don’t know, coming from Birmingham UK as I do).
By next post I hope to have had a practice game or two, chosen a colour scheme and started paiting.
Though it is early days any comment are of course welcome. Thanks.

Nice, will be interesting on seeing what you come up with. As to the NFL, being a Brit I tend to find you go with the team that makes the greatest impression on you when you first start watching. For me that was Denver, as my first game happened to be 'The Drive' and I've got three John Elway shirts over the years since that fabled game. Also regarding the NFL themed name idea, I like it, it reminds me of the old NAF set up I much preferred in 2nd edition Blood Bowl. To be honest, I Did the same thing myself, but mine where the 'Praag Broncos' Rally need to rebuild them at some point. Will be keeping an eye on this one.

As a part-time Seahawks fan, I love the team name! What color scheme are you thinking of? Please don't tell me the dreary grey and white of Wissenland. By that same token, red and black are definitely out -- using Nuln's colors would be "unpatriotic" for a Wissenburg team.

Hay guys, thanks for your interest.
Morathi, I’m excited to be doing this topic so glad to hear you’ll be following it. Love the Praag Broncos idea and hope to get a look at them if you do get round to rebuilding them.
Manchu, I’m working on the test subject as we speak. Doing my own design but trying to keep to the theme so I’m going for Seahawks blue (Fenris grey) as the main colour, trying to get a little green and white in there too. I get a work in progress pic up very soon
Thanks again guys.

Just a quick one, here’s the uniform colour so far.
I apologise for the picture quality but I’m doing this at night. It’s mainly Fenris Grey with a highlight.

Yeah, really looking nice in the light, also nice touch on the base, one of the things Aurelia and myself are fond of doing with Blood Bowl bases.
Hoping you keep updating the thread as you fill out the team, also I'll point Aurelia in this direction as she's also a Seahawk fan.

Thank you black ram, it’s my first go at proper BB basing, when I last did a team it was all still goblin green painted sand (man I feel old). It’s sand painted bestial brown with a dry brush of desert yellow, then add the static grass. Once the glues dried the white line is several thin coats of watered down skull white till your happy with it.

Cheers morathi, I’m pleased with how it’s turned out, as for the bases I’m going to do them all to mach there opening position on the field i.e. dead grass if their on the centre line.
I will be sticking pics of all the team and sideline staff up on here, and who knows, may even end up building a stadium
Thanks again guys

Hi all
Right then a couple of updates. Had my teams first game yesterday and even managed a 2-1 win in the closing turns, exciting stuff.
After playing this first game I’ve decided to go with the following for the first 11, or 12 in my case.
1x Thrower
2x Catcher
3x Blitzer
6x Lineman
1x Apothecary
2x Re-Rolls
Total 930,000 gp
Haven’t decided what to do with the remaining 70,000 yet. There is a plan behind the choices and I’ll happily answer any questions regarding team selection, not going into it right now so as to avoid a massive post.
This is just my list for games, I intend to collect and paint up minis to represent all 16 players and sideline staff.
On another note as well as base coating and painting armour on all of my team this past few days i have also managed to finish another player.
Unfortunately pics haven’t turned out to well so can’t really see the highlighting, but there’ll be more up soon so hopefully they’ll look better.
For my next few mods I had three heroes that stood out in the game so they’ll be done next.
Till then, as always all questions, comment and criticisms all very welcome.
Thanks

Looks good.
For team development you need to get the 4th Blitzer ASAP, and then the 3rd RR.

Thanks man, still got a bit of gold left so will add the re roll straight off. As for blitzer I do plan to add an extra one of everything as i develop the team, leaving room for an Oger of coures Automatically Appended Next Post: So here’s the team so far, coming along nicely.
Here’s my three hero’s from game one, the thrower completed all his passes, one being the infamous Long Bomb, the other two were my scorers.
I’ve done their shirt (armour) numbers.
And I couldn’t resist adding a little extra base detail, I know, small things eh!
As always, all questions comments and criticism welcome.
Thanks

Is it just me, or am I seeing some mold lines (especially on the thrower's forward elbow).
the Paint job looks nice, and the lines take away from it. I would recommend fixing that.
Keep up the good work.
