for a colour scheme i'd check you tube. that's where i got mine. as for units, just look for some threads about nids and you'll be good to go.

"As I looked into its dead black eyes, I saw the terrible sentinence it had in place of a soul. Behind that was the steel will of its leader. Further still I could feel its primogenitor coldly assessing me from the void. And looking back from the deepest recesses of the aliens mind I perceived what I can describe only as an immortal hunger.
We can slay the tyranids on our worlds, blast their fleets from space, grind their armies to torn and ruined fragments. But their hunger? That is beyond our ability to slay."

Well, depends on the kind of army you want to get. Nidzilla armies foocuses on monstruous creatures and then there's the swarm army with lots and lots and LOTS of bugs. If you're going for a swarm, which is both fun and quite strong, you will need a lot of Gaunts. Like, A LOT. At least 100 for a small game. And the Tervigon is a good option too. It's big, it's awesome and it can breed several Termagants on every turn. Genestealers al always a good option too. They're fast, scary and deadly. On colours, you can use the clasic Hive Fleet colors or use entirely new combinations. The colours for the clasic Hive Fleets are: Leviathan Behemoth Kraken

Yea i was thinking of going for a hoard army since i collect space marines(blood angels to be exact), and it would be a great change of pace from having ten man squads to a 30...thing hoard.
As for colours, i was thinking of doing green or black and yellow.

If you want to see a Gaunt swarm army in action, you can go here. It's form the guys from Miniwargaming. Chaos vs Nids!

This is where i got the idea to start collecting nids, it just struck a primal nerve!
Also, for tervigons, should i just get some fexes and proxy them for tervigons?

Be careful with proxying Tervigons with Carnifexes, some people simply don't like proxying and won't play you. Not to mention they're too small - IIRC at a Q&A one of the GW studio recommended using Trygon bases for Tervigons.

I'll just call the tervigon "Timmy, The littlest tervigon"
