Here's the problem I'm having: Go with the Chaos Space Marine codex, or the Space Wolves codex? This is due, in part, to me discovering Skyrar's Dark Wolves, a Chaos warband with possible gene-seed ties to the Space Wolves. Part of me wants to use wolf-like demons, but the other wants to try the Wolf Priest's psychic powers, and I just do not know what to do. Needless to say, I need help and opinions, Dakkommunity.

It really depends on what you find more appealing, I will tell you that the wolves will most likely give you a better win percentage, as they are one of the strongest armies right now.

CSM most recent codex from what I can tell is not everyones favorite, for more information on them, I would look at threads posted by Justdave.

If you're looking to be competitive it's probably a better bet to go with SW, as much as I hate to say it. CSM just isn't a very competitive codex, there are only 2-3 decent builds for them and the codex gives no uniqueness to ANY of the legions, beyond the few IC's.

SW on the other hand are debateably OP.

Yeah, you're probably right. And now that I think about it, it'd probably be less likely that Skyrar's worship chaos, instead probably just being Renegade. So, it would make more sense to use the Space Wolves codex, since I probably wouldn't get the Chaos benefits fluff-wise anyway.

SW codex + Chaos and SW parts + wolfen played as I dunno Wolf guard or thundersquirrels or some gak = 13th co and the best of both worlds.

This TBH if really want to , doing the above could potentially field the army as either/or. Trouble will come up with some of the specialized troops ( any mutant/ chaos things, and any of the wolves).

Do what I am doing, use both, not at the same time.
Make sure the Core can be used by either Codex amd perifirals that can be changed out depending on witch dex you are using
