Had a read of some older posts regarding csm army lists, and one mentioned that you could take a land raider as a dedicated transport for terminators, which I saw in the codex, but that by doing so it didn't count in the force org chart. Is that the case? I thought if you took a LR in the csm dex it always counted in a heavy slot and you were therefore limited to 3?

Read the rules for dedicated transports - they do not take up a slot, but occupy the same slot (and are considered the same slot) as the unit that bought them.

So you can get 6 LR in a standard CSM army
