So pretty much this list looks fun to play...once...and then notsomuch after that. Pretty much wanted a fairly effective henchmen horde that comes at you. It's pretty self explanatory...Dreads, Lots of Melta and Stormbolters. Coteaz makes them troops, Karamozov has the Dread Reputation bubble to make units reroll all failed morale and pinning checks. He sticks with the Crusaders. Karamozov also has the Orbital strike I can use...without scatter if i place it over my own model. (good for a horde)

Looks pretty good. I've built a few one paper, of various points, the thing I've found hard is not over using the same thing over and over.

Mhmm...honestly this list bores me...but it would be fun to try once. Most of my henchmen lists are basic "veteran squads" with crusaders and plasma pistol warriors

That's the problem I see with more henchmen armies. There's very very little in the way of diversity, unless you want to use GKs.

I have a question, why give the melta guys power armor? Its not like you are going to be wanting to have them take to blows.
Other then that, you list looks pretty good.

So that when I must allocate to them...they live.

Wait, what? There's 10 kinds of henchmen and one of those kinds has as much customization as most Independent Characters.

That unit alone offers more diversity than several existing codexes.

"'players must agree how they are going to select their armies, and if any restrictions apply to the number and type of models they can use."

This is an actual rule in the actual rulebook. Quit whining about how you can imagine someone's army touching you in a bad place and play by the actual rules.

When people ask, "What's the point in understanding everything?" they've just disqualified themselves from using questions and should disappear in a puff of paradox. But they don't understand and just continue existing, which are also their only two strategies for life.

He wasn't talking about the actual list building...just the way that people tend to build their lists...

Mass "something or another" or mass "this unit"

people don't tend to mix it up because they're too busy making or building "net lists" that are rather annoying.

I very much doubt he was saying the unit has no way of being diverse...though I do see the confusion.

I run henchmen kinda like this. My main squads consist of:

1 Jokareo
1 Deathcult assassin
7 Acolytes with carapace and storm bolters
3 acolytes with carapace and plasma guns
Chimera

They're actually very good in mixed units. I run a 5 DCA, 4 Crusader unit with a Psycho/Rad Tech and a 6 Arco, 5 Crusader 1 Banisher w/ evisc and a libby in a LRC that unit alone is better than most deathstars out there you've got some great support characters in the book. I think you should diversify a bit more when building henchman hordes I'll be in Toledo for rd2 of Ard Boyz and my list is...

HQ: Inquisitor Coteaz -100

HQ: Librarian - MoT, Sanctuary, Shrouding, Quicksilver, MC Warding Stave, SS x1 - 215

Troops: Arco x6, Crusader x5, Banisher w/ Eviscerator, Chimera ML/HF w/ SL - 251

Troops: DCA x5, Crusader x4, Rhino w/ SL - 176

Troops: Warrior x5, Servitor w/MM x3, Jokaero x2, Chimera ML/HF w/ SL - 176

Troops: Warrior x3, MG x3, Las/Plas - 122

Troops: Warrior x3, MG x3, Las/Plas - 122

Troops: Warrior x3, PG x3, Las/Plas - 122

Elite: Techmarine - Rad, Psycho, SS x3, Warding Stave - 149

Heavy Support: Psyfleman - 135

Heavy Support: Psyfleman - 135

Heavy Support: Land Raider Crusader (1# 266 pts) MM, SL

Elite: Vindicare Assassin (1# 145 pts)

Elite: Purifier Squad x10 - MC DH, Psycannon x4, Halbred x5, Psybolt Assback w/ SL - 386

I suppose I get redundant in the 3 Las/Plas squads but they still are able to take out surprise threats ala drop podding dreads while keeping costs relatively low. I love Coteaz's unit anything trying to outflank or DS has to play it safe or face 5 MM shots and 4x Psycannons in a Chimera is lol and I've been fiddling with 5 man termie squads jacking rides in them with relentless you can still move and get the same amount of shots as 4 PAGK.

plus it's one of the only times with 40k you're going to be excited when you roll a 1 with 2x Jokaero lol.
