There is a particular board game released recently, that I thought beared a resemblence to my beloved 'Risk', so intended to buy it. But, alas, I put it off and off until I forgot the name. Could anyone help me here?

I remember it is set in Shogun period Japan, and comes with I believe 3 different coloured sets of playing pieces shaped like ashigaru and like, I can't remember much more than that for having a terrible memory.

Thanks if anyone can help me!

If it's anything like Risk, it must be awesome (that's my favorite game ) but I've never played shogun...

Ikusa is the third version of this game to be released, each has had a different name. I had the original back in the day and played the hell out of it. Great game.

Somewhere in south-central England.

It was first release as Shogun, then as Samurai Swords, and now as Ikusa.

AFAIK the rules are exactly the same, though some of the components have been changed.

Great game. I have a copy of the original in good condition so I don't know if it's worth buying this version.

I'm writing a load of fiction. My latest story starts here... This is the index of all the stories...

We're not very big on official rules. Rules lead to people looking for loopholes. What's here is about it.
