Hey everyone! I got some new pics of my models. Below I have a better shot of my Venerable Dreadnought then what I had previously posted, a more focused shot of my Crimson Fists Sternguard, and my freshly finished Deathwatch Sternguard unit.

I have detailed shots of each individual member of the Deathwatch Squad showing off their shoulder pads in my gallery. Please take a look and vote!

Your painting is fantastic - I love your color choices and the highlights are awesome. However, why oh why don't you drill their barrels? It's the last little touch that would take your Sternguard from great to incredible. I really, really like the freehand and script on their cloths. The Deathwatch don't excite me too much but I can tell they're well painted. However, that dreadnought is practically 'Eavy Metal quality in my eyes. The highlights are stylish and well executed, and once again I like your color selection. Where is that big Fist icon from though? I can't place it.

Really cool, that is actually exactly what I am doing. I have a CF army, and one of my alternate sternguard units I have is a Deathwatch squad.

Enough people have told me to drill out the barrels where I think I break down and do it. The Fist icon is out of the Forge World fists icon pack. Thanks for your the compliments and input!

Sweet! I thought it was a cool choice considering that Crimson Fists work closely with Deathwatch, and I wanted my veteran units to stand out from each other. Looking forward to seeing your work!

I'll swap my ability to drill out bolters for your Highlighting ability anytime!

I love the look of your DW marines, the highlighting is just so right!

Collecting Forge World 30k????? If you prefix any Thread Subject line on 30k or Pre-heresy or Horus Heresy with [30K] we can convince LEGO and the Admin team to create a 30K mini board if we can show there is enough interest!

Thanks a ton for the kind words! I do have to admit that drilling out the bolters if probably something I need to do, and will do in the future.

Sons of Dorn unite!

Looks great! That's some awesome freehand on the tabards and nice use of the fist icon on the powerfist, a perfect fit. Your deathwatch sternies look a little wolfish, though. I'm assuming there was a little cross-pollination of Wolf bits?

I did the something similar for my own Sternguard using Legion of the Damned and used Blood Angels models for my Honor Guard. I like the look of your unit, very nicely done!

Hm... Only one of the sternguard has wolf bitz, which is the space wolf member of the squad. I did use shadow grey and spacewolf grey for the highlights.

Well that makes sense now.

I thought these were all CF Deathwatch marines with some kind of alternate pauldron designation system, but they're really just a Deathwatch squad from other chapters, hence the right pauldrons being different colors. The armor looks so blue in the second shot, not the black or dark gray that Deathwatch traditionally are.

Really good work, love that dreadnought. Very clean, precise brushwork and excellent color coordination. Great job.

Yeah, they are a bit blue. Intentional, though, as I was trying to at least hint to blue and red as they are to be used with my Fists. I think it helps give the army a more cohesive look as a whole, considering that squad in particular is very different from everything else in my army.

Really good work .I went for a darker blue for my Crimson Fists,a mix of necron abyss and mordian blue at a ( very ) roughly 60-40 mix.

I realized after my first squad that they were turning out a bit brighter then I intended. For some reason, I have a tough time keeping my colors dark. For instance, I intended the bolters in the Deathwatch squad to fade from a very dark red to a middle shade of red, but they turned out like all my other reds do.
