Long standing now, all the most experienced players at the local game store, indicated that the Storm did damage using the vehicles Side Armour value.

Today, someone objected at the store, and I could not recall having read it anywhere on what armour facing is used, because it seems like something I would have wanted confirmed awhile back.

Now I can not find anything, anywhere about it.

So, question is. Eldritch Storm hits a tank right on top of it. Which armour value do you use to do the damage result? A reference to a rulebook page, or errata, FAQ etc would be most helpful since this is bound to come up again.

As ES uses the large blast marker and is not a barrage weapon, if the hole lands on top of the vehicle, the vehicle is hit on the side facing the firer (BRB, pg 60)

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

Thank you for helping clear up the confusion.

Remember: You only have to HIT the vehicle to spin it around, even if you don't hurt it.

Doesn't make much difference to a land raider, but it can to a vindicator, especially if your next shots at it are at rear armour and immobilise it (it's stuck facing that way).

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).
Old enough to know better, young enough to not give a ****.

That is not dead which can eternal lie ...

... and yet, with strange aeons, even death may die.

Your beardy git was likely thinking of Cityfight rules where any blast marker that strikes from above uses side armor, unless it's been fortified against such attacks.

What harm can it do to find out? It's a question that left bruises down the centuries, even more than "It can't hurt if I only take one" and "It's all right if you only do it standing up." Terry Pratchett, Making Money

"Can a magician kill a man by magic?" Lord Wellington asked Strange. Strange frowned. He seemed to dislike the question. "I suppose a magician might," he admitted, "but a gentleman never could." Susanna Clarke Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell
