My buddy and I were trying to figure out if his Blood Angels Stormraven could deep strike and then since its an assault vehicle could his marines then disembark and then move and shoot and assault? it seems like the rules of Assault vehicles and Deepstrike contradict each other when on one vehicle.

From the BGB FAQ:
Q: Does a unit being transported by a vehicle that has
arrived by Deep Stike that turn also count as having
arrived by Deep Strike? (p95)
A: Yes.

So, the unit itself counts as having arrived by Deep Strike. Models that deep strike cannot assault that turn. Models that disembark from an assault vehicle can assault that turn.

Can not + can = can not

So, no, they can not launch an assault that turn.

No, they can't. See the BRB FAQ. It states that units inside transports that deep striked also count as deep striking.
