i have a question concerning grey knights, specifically Terminators/Paladins.

Terminators/Paladins have the option to replace their Nemesis Force Sword with a Brotherhood Banner, and in this way robbing them of a viable close combat weapon. Are they then still able to perform attacks in combat or are they to busy holding on to the banner with both hands?
The banner has some cool effects, however, if the wielder cant perform any attacks, i'm not sure if it's worth it :-s

They can still attack, however they will lack the benefit of having a force weapon, and thus will not ignore armor saves, and will not have any of the other benefits of whatever nemesis weapon they would otherwise have.

A model with a Brotherhood Banner would still get his normal attacks. He'd lose the NFS and all it's benefits. But, he'd still get his base attacks (plus the bonus from the Banner).

What everyone else has said is correct.

My Paladins run with a Banner, along with various other equipment per model so that I can allocate wounds, and I find it very useful since I also have a Grandmaster attached to the squad. I've even had the attacks from the model holding the banner kill another terminator

you got a bit lucky with that one then
