So, those of you who played Epic Armageddon (I'm talking to both of you) know that Forge World made some cool resin models for us. One of the models was the Lucias Pattern Warhound Titan. Since EA sold so well and Forge World realized they just couldn't keep up with the insane demand, they decided to stop production in order to preserve their sanity and give them a little time to do things like 28mm scale Mantas and stuff like that. Whatever.
Anyway, this isn't a Forge World discussion, it's an eBay follies discussion. Follow the link below and see what the "going rate" for a bag of two Epic Warhound Titans is according to at least one seller.

Sometimes I have to wonder where people get their pricing data. Any bets on it selling?

120 bucks for a model that goes with a game system that I've never seen anyone play in the 5 years I've been in the hobby?
It'll sell like hotcakes, I'm sure of it.

Remember - the basic rule of commerce is the going rate of any given item is based solely on what someone is willing to pay for it. That's the beauty of eBay. After all, there's a sucker born every minute.

50/50. It sells or it doesn't.
Shame they botched Epic like that. The first incarnations were really good. The new version, not so much.

These are actually in pretty high demand by Epic players (I'm one of them). The thing is, FW didn't completely stop production, if you ring them up there's a decent chance they have some. If they're out, call back in a month.

And so, due to rising costs of maintaining the Golden Throne, the Emperor's finest accountants spoke to the Demigurg. A deal was forged in blood and extensive paperwork for a sub-prime mortgage with a 5/1 ARM on the Imperial Palace. And lo, in the following years the housing market did tumble and the rate skyrocketed leaving the Emperor's coffers bare. A dark time has begun for the Imperium, the tithes can not keep up with the balloon payments and the Imperial Palace and its contents, including the Golden Throne, have fallen into foreclosure. With an impending auction on the horizon mankind holds its breath as it waits to see who will gain possession of the corpse-god and thus, the fate of humanity...... |

They were actually in stock earlier today - they're out now. I was going to pick them up, but since my current Epic armies only stand at 1000 pts each (Guard, Marines, Orks), I decided I probably didn't need them.
And yeah, people on eBay charge ludicrous amounts for those Warhounds, often with the claim that they're OOP.

My "Pro-Painted" army I listed as "Well Painted" the last time it was up:

Actually the latest version is pretty good, they have gone back to elements of the previous versions that were more popular.
I always hope GW will revive Epic into a core game again, even though I think such a thing is unlikely. I think it's one of the best game experiences they have ever created.

I wonder about ebay sellers sometimes. Theres 1 seller Ive seen who routinely lists current production GW stuff for about 4x MSRP. Ive never bothered to look and see if hes actually sold anything.
