Taking a que from The Grenouissian Intermezzo via the indomitable Mr. Hyde, I'm quite interested in getting myself writing again as a means to relax instead of, say, surfing the internet between classes.

So, here's where I come to you, Dakkanauts. I need a bit of help creating this world of mine. What I need are various States which can wage war with each other. The setting for this world is, essentially, Europe, circa 1800-1820, with that level of technology and culture.

What I'd like is:
-Country Name/Ruler
-Inspired Country of Origin
-Military Colors (to be applied to any models)
-Anything else you'd like to include - flags, etc.

Below is an example - the Estanian Empire is the main antagonist within this world:
-Estanian Empire (Estanians) - Emperor Sebastien-Joseph Huguelet
-France
-Black/Gold
-(I'd get the flag up, but this damned flag-making software isn't working)

Inspired by Ireland in the early 19th century, ie, not a country, but a set of barely coherent rebel forces fighting against their larger neighbour and some of their compatriots, as well as serving as mercenaries in every army going, including that of their neighbour.

-Quartered with alternating White Black field. Center of of the Flag is a White/Black diamond with black/white diamonds in each quarter of the flag, based on the opposing color. I have a rough image if you need to see it. Didnt bother to upload it.

Hm... I still need a British-esque country, as well as a few more to fill in the gap between Hiilm (which is up against the mountain range - the Spine of the World - that separates this part of the world from the other) and

Perhaps kill two birds with one stone?
An English/British type nation that isnt a nation at all. But a series of smaller city-states organized into a confederation. Like the German states of 1600 - 1800s. Or the Italian state was.

Slight Thredromancy here, but this is a cool thread idea.

A nice idea, but I'm not entirely sure that Vikings would fit into Napoleonic-era warfare, not to mention the fact that no 'America' exists in the world (currently).

However... lemme see what I can work with. Great flag choice!

well, even though America was not very powerful at the time in real life, if the vikings had began to succesfully settle it beggining at the time Lief Ericson found it, they would have have had aproximately 800 years to settle, grow, and consolidate power on the new continant before the 1800's. so it is pheasible that, with the 500 year head start over when Columbus found it, the vikings could be already a world power by said time period. as for vikings in napoleonic warfare: obviously, if they are going to be charging the enemy with two handed axes, sword and a spear, chain mail and shield, they will get nowhere except valhalla. but lets say they advance with the times, keeping their warrior culture and ruthless brutality, which, wether you have ray guns or pointy sticks, is still useful.

PS: I really am doing a bit to much alternate histroy in this, so if you think I have gone too far into fantasy, just dont use them. I can come up with someone a bit more reasonable

Flags: (regiemnts carry 2 flags)
The Helland Rose - Quatered red and whies with a black rose in the center
Regimental flags - Plain white with a regimental motife in the center.
Cavalry - small banner divided horizonatally red and white with the number of the regiment in the center.
