Games Day UK News!

Hi there,
Here at Forge World we’re frantically preparing for the biggest Games Day of the year, Games Day UK held at the Birmingham NEC on Sunday 25th September. Those of you who will be there will be able to buy two fantastic miniatures well in advance of their scheduled release dates, and we can now bring you the first sneak peeks of them. Remember they will be on sale at Games Day UK in limited numbers, so don’t wait too long to buy them.

Exclusive Pre-Release Products Available at Games Day UK

The first is another amazingly detailed resin character model designed by the talented Edgar Skomorowski.
Border Prince, mercenary general, wanted criminal and dastardly sell-sword, Lietpold the Black, also known as Lietpold the Bloody, Lietpold Turncloak and Lietpold the Liar, is a man to whom profit is more valued than honour or loyalty.

This notorious character is perhaps the most detailed miniature yet released by Warhammer Forge. Lietpold the Black will be available from the Forge World Sales stand at Games Day UK in limited numbers, priced at £24. http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/Events/Games_Day_UK_2011.html

The second model to be showcased at Games Day UK is the first in a brand new range of Warhammer monsters.

When the eightfold storm engulfs the Warhammer world, the most violent and savage aspects of each Wind of Magic can be summoned using dark and ancient rites, and bound by Wizards into forms shaped by the Lore they serve.

The Incarnate Elemental of Beasts, designed by Keith Robertson, is a base and brutal servant-form, created to defend an Amber Wizard and destroy his foes. Available at Games Day UK in limited numbers for £45.00, this highly detailed and immense full resin monster is the perfect centrepiece for any army.

Games Day Tickets Still Available

If you’ve not yet bought your Games Day UK ticket, be quick because they’re selling out fast! You can order yours by visiting www.games-workshop.com. If you need transport to get to the NEC, coaches will be leaving from Games Workshop stores nationwide, so why not pop in to your local store for more details.

Thanks,
Ead Brown

Shiney... there is something almost characture-ish with Lietpold, I like it, but I get the feeling its going to be hammered for not being something more.

So I love the elemental myself, almost to the point of hiring one of you UK lads to pick him up for me ... But 45 GBP is steep for something I'll never use and have only seen this one scaleless shot of (though assuming that's a bell / chariot base he should be a big boy)

Here's looking forward to more big elemental baddies, preferably with less limited releases

Yeah... I know.

I really want to use that Elemental Beast as some sort of Undivided Chaos Greater Daemon.

Isn't that the case with most FW and WF products.

You are aware that these are pre-release sales before the major release later, right?

Edit: I just had a thought what Maelstrom would have made of that big beasty (hint: it's horny )

Gathering the Informations.

So, after earlier shenanigans...

Lietpold is as good as I want him to be.

He'd be better if he were for sale and I could buy him, but I can wait.

The Beast elemental is what I called it to be.

I was thinking combat hellcannon in a pinch, or a hellpit for a not-very-skaveny skaven army. Sort of like my own ...

Clearly not at all. Guess I can just keep my pants on for a bit

Super cool stuff! I really like Lietpold, and I'm interested to see some more shots of the figure. He might make an excellent Vampire Lord character I've been wanting.

Also - BRING ON THE ELEMENTAL INCARNATIONS!

Cannot wait to see the Celestial, Amethyst, or Fire ones. They will be so sick, I'm sure.

Saw the picture of the Incarnation and first thought "something for my Beastmen" then I got disappointed.

Looks great, might get one eventually. Would have rather had a Cygor/Ghorgon/Big Honking Goat.

I wouldn't bother with that if I were you Tigerone, according to FW they'll be available for general sale "soon".

And so help them if it's not...

Lietpold looks excellent, with all the fine armor detail. I don't generally like Empire stuff, but he is very cool. At £24, though, not something I can buy on a whim.

The elemental, on the other hand, is kinda boring to me. Maybe it's just because I'm comparing it to Lietpold, with all of his tiny detail, but the elemental seems very plain.

Anyone know if they're going to be at Australian Gamesday as well? Seems stupid they'd be available at an event 1 week before but not at ours. Hate to miss out on that Empire piece.

Lietpold looks pretty good, but I wish I could see him from a variety of angles.

The elemental I'm not sold on. Certain touches on it are awesome mind: I love the head and the talons. But my overall impression is it's not weird enough to be an elemental. I envision elementals defying the laws of physics, not just being a big brutey mutant.

Considering that it's for Lore of Beasts I think it's fine. Does it look like a beast? Yes. Good to go. I expect some of the others to be more esoteric.

Keep in mind that they're still in a "ramp up" mode for the Fantasy side of Forgeworld.
