I've got a handful of the older smaller Obliterators which I'd like to use for a tournament. They are mounted on regular infantry bases, not the new larger terminator bases. Do I need to rebase them? Are they illegal either way since they are so much smaller? Any help would be appreciated.

There is nothing in the rules that would require you to use the latest models or re-base your old models.
That being said, any time a model changes substantially in size, you will run across people who will grumble about you using the older models, as they will assume (particularly in a tournament setting) that you're using them for some sort of perceived LOS advantage.
If you want to cover all of your bases, check with the tournament organiser before the event to ensure that they have no problem with the models. So long as they don't care, you're fine.
And really, the majority of players won't care ... other than to wonder why you would choose to use such ugly models.

Completely Legal TBH beings the rules we have say on the bases they come with. As yours came with smaller bases back in the day.
Be sure to ask the TO first though, sometimes people like to cry about silly things. So it's better to get the go ahead beforehand

I actually prefer the more "mech" look of the older oblits. Too much skin and cyborgness with the newer guys. Plus the one guy has a gun coming out of his mouth. I mean come on, that takes badass to a new level.
