I recently obtained a 100+ model Tyranid force from ebay for the low low price of 48. So far I've played Imperial Guard and have loved them, but Tyranids were always my second sought after army. I'm incredibly surprised at the amazing deal I got (The painting is also just fantastic) but having never played Tyranids or against them, I have no idea what some of the models are. I can easily identify the Hormagaunts, Genestealers, Ripper Swarms, and Termagants, but I have about 12ish models that all look suspiciously like Warrior models. I know one of them is a Carnifex, but I'm not completely sure what he's equipped with! And I think there is a Hive Tyrant in here somewhere.

I've googled a few pictures of units and could probably piece it together, but that information could also be very wrong. I'd trust people on here a lot more. (I just signed up for this site but have been reading it mostly at work for the two-three months I've been playing Warhammer ) It should be a relatively quick job for a Tyranid player, though I admit my camera's phone is nothing more than subpar.

Thank you so much ahead of time for any help. I can't wait to shove these Tyranid Close Combat monsters at my friend's Eldar who just annihilate my Guard in close quarters (I've won 3 games to his 2 though and just won a close one tonight though )

These all look like Warriors to me. I'm not sure if you mean that one of the pictures you showed was a carnifex, or that you just HAVE a carnifex, but all those pics in the link are Warriors.

Those all looked like warriors to me with scything talons and then varying ranged weapons.

Well the first picture isn't very clear, but his claws are HUGE compared to the other ones and has a massive weapon. I could be wrong but I think he might be a Carnifex. There's no Tyrant in there? That could be a problem D:

They are definitely all just warriors.

Those large scything talons on one of them come with the warrior box. The warrior heavy weapons sprue was originally the third edition monstrous creature weapons sprue, so you get a pair of oversized scything talons along with the guns.

Warriors all.
Variety of weapons and cc biomorphs, but warriors only in that selection.

Tyrants had different heads and were larger.
Carnifices were larger still (you say -fexes, I say -fices. I learned it this way and any other way sounds wrong to me. Appendix, appendices, indices, vertices, etc.)

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).
Old enough to know better, young enough to not give a ****.

That is not dead which can eternal lie ...

... and yet, with strange aeons, even death may die.
